Join us as a Lead EDD to give a critical Enhanced Due Diligence process dedicated operational leadership. Your focus will be on operational excellence: delivering consistent, high-quality production, developing a growing team and continuously improving how we work.
You will report to Florence, Anti-Financial Crime Director (Western Europe), and lead Qonto’s EDD production team. Working closely with KYC/KYB, Operations and Anti-Financial Crime stakeholders—including colleagues responsible for regulatory and project-related matters—you will translate agreed requirements into effective day-to-day practices and give the team the support, guidance and production visibility it needs to succeed.
➡️ What you'll do
Lead production with rigor: organize daily workloads, monitor incoming cases, backlog and output, and resolve blockers. Establish clear KPIs to track volumes, progress and performance.
Support sound EDD decisions: provide second opinions and four-eyes checks, guide complex investigations and risk assessments, and ensure verified sources and clear assessment memos support conclusions. Help the team escalate high-risk cases appropriately.
Raise review quality: deepen customer-profile reviews and improve consistency as capacity grows, balancing thorough investigation with prioritization and timely delivery.
Keep the customer experience in view: work with customer-facing and Operations teams to make EDD requests clear and reduce unnecessary back-and-forth and delays, while maintaining robust controls and acting firmly when risks warrant it.
Develop a growing team: onboard and coach team members through real cases, share best practices and build autonomy. Step into production during workload spikes or capacity gaps.
Drive continuous improvement: improve EDD workflows and handoffs with KYC/KYB and Operations, using production insights and quality findings to reduce friction and strengthen delivery. Keep operational procedures clear and current, working with regulatory and project colleagues to embed agreed changes into daily practice.
Use AI with judgment: monitor AI-assisted EDD activity and control coverage, and coordinate improvements and bug fixes with Security.
➡️ What we're looking for
Relevant experience: you bring solid KYC/AML, EDD or related financial-crime experience, including hands-on production work.
Regulatory and investigative expertise: you apply KYC/KYB and AML/CFT requirements to complex customer profiles, verify sources, identify risk patterns and document clear, well-supported conclusions.
Production management: you organize work, prioritize cases, monitor backlog and capacity, and use KPIs to improve delivery without compromising quality.
Leadership potential: you guide colleagues, give practical feedback and help a relatively junior/new team grow. Formal management experience is not essential; understanding the lead role and being ready to step up are.
Stakeholder management and customer focus: you collaborate across teams, communicate clearly and stay composed under pressure. You reduce customer friction without compromising controls or regulatory requirements, challenging requests and escalating when needed.
Continuous improvement and technical curiosity: you seek better ways to work, use EDD tools confidently and explore AI with a critical eye on its outputs and limitations.
Languages: you are fluent in English and French; another European language is a plus.
➡️ What we can offer you
A role with tangible impact: improve EDD production quality, stability and visibility, supporting sound risk decisions and Qonto’s growth.
An opportunity to support a growing team: share your expertise and help colleagues build confidence and autonomy as the team expands.
A practical improvement mandate: turn production insights into clearer processes, stronger reviews and better collaboration with Operations, AFC and Security.
Exposure to evolving compliance operations: help scale operations as Qonto progresses toward becoming a bank, including responsible AI use in EDD.
Room to grow: deepen your EDD expertise and develop leadership and coaching skills, with potential future expert opportunities in AFC, Risk & Compliance, AML or Operations, depending on your development and business needs.
