AI-Native Electrical Engineer

True Talent Solutions Partners · Detroit · onsite

ABOUT THE ROLE

Join an energy technology team building high-voltage power systems. You will take early-stage prototypes through design, testing, and iteration to create deployable alpha hardware for design partners.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Turn lab-scale prototypes into structured, testable hardware systems ready for customer evaluation.

- Design high-voltage DC power conversion, switching, and distribution systems, including architectures using silicon carbide devices.

- Model and validate electrical, thermal, and system-level behavior with tools such as SPICE and PLECS.

- Lead hands-on lab bring-up, debugging, and characterization using high-power equipment.

- Use AI tools, including agents and language models, to accelerate design, testing, and iteration.

- Coordinate PCB fabrication, component sourcing, and packaging with external partners.

- Make pragmatic system-level tradeoffs across performance, thermal management, reliability, and manufacturability.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

- At least 2 years of experience designing, prototyping, and testing power electronics systems.

- Experience taking hardware from prototype through simulation, bring-up, validation, and iterative improvement.

- Practical experience with electrical simulation tools such as SPICE or PLECS.

- A degree in electrical engineering or demonstrated aptitude in power electronics.

- Hands-on gate-driver design experience for fast-switching architectures.

- Strong system intuition and the ability to weigh electrical, thermal, and mechanical tradeoffs.

- Experience integrating AI tools, such as agents or models, into a technical workflow.

- Knowledge of high-voltage and high-power systems, including 800V-class architectures, SiC, or GaN; experience in EVs, charging, solar, or battery storage is useful.
