JOB SUMMARY
Works under limited direction to provide senior-level leadership and project management expertise for complex space planning, facilities, renovation, and capital initiatives supporting the education and research missions within Academic Affairs.
Leads institutional space planning and facilities initiatives with Academic Affairs leadership, Facilities Management, and other institutional stakeholders. Oversees projects from planning and programming through construction, occupancy, and operational transition while ensuring alignment with institutional priorities, strategic growth initiatives, operational needs, and applicable policies and standards.
Serves as an advisor and liaison on academic and research space utilization, infrastructure planning, and renovation initiatives across multiple departments and stakeholders.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Required- Education
Bachelor's Degree
- Experience
5 years of project management/construction experience required with a Bachelor‿s degree or
Equivalent industry related experience and knowledge without a degree.
Preferred- Education
Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, and Construction Management
- Experience
Design and Construction experience with academic healthcare and/or research facilities and/or project management/construction management experience with a focus in healthcare, academic, and/or research facilities.
JOB DUTIES - Leads strategic planning, coordination, and execution of complex space planning and facilities initiatives supporting academic, administrative, and research operations within Academic Affairs.
- Oversee a portfolio of renovation, infrastructure, occupancy, and capital planning projects with responsibility for scope development, schedules, budgets, stakeholder coordination, and project execution.
- Partners with Academic Affairs leadership, department administrators, Research Operations, Facilities Management, and institutional stakeholders to assess current and future space needs and develop strategic space utilization recommendations aligned with institutional priorities.
- Coordinates planning and implementation activities related to faculty recruitment, departmental growth, research expansion, educational programs, and organizational restructuring requiring space and facilities support.
- Facilitates planning meetings and stakeholder discussions to define project objectives, operational requirements, timelines, risks, and resource needs.
- Collaborates with architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and Facilities Management teams to support project planning, programming, design review, renovation coordination, construction, and occupancy readiness.
- Develops and maintains project schedules, status reports, presentations, planning documents, utilization analyses, and executive-level communications for leadership review and decision-making.
- Monitors project scope, milestones, budgets, deliverables, and dependencies to ensure initiatives remain aligned with institutional goals and operational expectations.
- Identifies project risks, operational impacts, space constraints, and potential conflicts; develops recommendations and mitigation strategies to support successful project outcomes.
- Provides strategic guidance regarding space allocation, utilization trends, facility optimization opportunities, and long-range infrastructure planning.
- Coordinates move planning, occupancy transitions, and operational readiness activities associated with renovations, departmental relocations, and space reassignments.
- Supports development and implementation of best practices, standards, and processes related to academic and research space planning, facilities coordination, and project management.
- Serves as a liaison between Academic Affairs and institutional operational partners to facilitate communication, project alignment, and resolution of complex issues.
- Prepares and delivers executive summaries, reports, presentations, and recommendations for senior leadership, committees, and institutional stakeholders.
- May provide guidance, mentorship, and project oversight to project managers, coordinators, and other staff involved in space and facilities initiatives.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
