Senior Project Engineer - Multifamily Construction

SRM is seeking a detail-driven, collaborative Senior Project Engineer to help keep our construction projects running seamlessly. You’ll manage information flow, coordinate subcontractors, support site operations, and ensure work is completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standard while partnering closely with Project Managers and Superintendents to ensure project success.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Keep the Project Organized
- Lead the flow of project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, contracts, and project records
- Review RFIs and submittals for completeness, accuracy, and compliance before distribution
- Maintain current project logs, identify overdue items, and proactively follow up to keep deadlines on track
- Anticipate documentation needs and ensure project teams have timely access to accurate information
- Maintain organized electronic and hard-copy project records in accordance with company standards
- Oversee project photo and video documentation for progress tracking, internal updates, and marketing
Support Project Managers
- Assist with the preparation, review, and tracking of subcontractor pricing for potential change orders
- Maintain the Change Order Log and identify cost, schedule, or scope impacts requiring escalation
- Support project forecasting, cost tracking, meeting preparation, and status reporting
- Coordinate communication between field and office teams to ensure changes are documented and addressed promptly
- Research project issues, recommend solutions, and follow through on assigned action items
- Provide guidance and support to Project Engineers and Interns as needed
Help Coordinate Subcontractors
- Partner with Superintendents to plan and facilitate subcontractor coordination meetings
- Prepare agendas, document key decisions, track action items, and distribute Site Instruction Summaries
- Monitor subcontractor commitments and follow up on outstanding documentation, materials, and deliverables
- Assist with resolving coordination issues among subcontractors, consultants, and project teams
- Build productive working relationships with subcontractors while reinforcing project expectations and deadlines
Safety & Compliance
- Maintain required jobsite postings, safety notifications, subcontractor safety documentation, and compliance records
- Partner with Superintendents and Foremen to ensure safety documentation is complete, current, and accessible
- Monitor project compliance requirements and escalate missing or incomplete documentation
- Manage certified payroll requirements and maintain accurate supporting records
- Promote a strong safety culture by identifying documentation gaps and supporting timely corrective action
