Store Supervisor / Dispatcher

Whizz · Miami, Florida, United States

About the role

Whizz has opened a new e-bike delivery store in Miami, and we're hiring two Store Supervisors to run it 7 days a week. You're the on-site leader: you keep the store safe, organized, and accountable, own its inventory and equipment, and dispatch and manage our W-2 delivery couriers, from putting them on shifts to keeping them in the right zones and helping them when problems come up. The store is open about 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, and you work alternating 3- and 4-day weeks so weekends are shared fairly.

What you'll do

- Open and close the store using a written checklist, and keep the space clean and safe.

- Check couriers in and out, hand out e-bikes, and receive them back at the end of each shift.

- Swap and charge batteries, and keep the battery area organized.

- Track bikes, batteries, and spare parts, and run a regular inventory count.

- Log damaged bikes and follow up with the mechanic until each one is repaired and back in service.

- Support couriers who stop by: phone charging, water, basic questions, and escalating issues to management.

- Record attendance and no-shows, and send a short end-of-shift report to the next supervisor.

Dispatching and managing couriers

Beyond running the store, you act as the dispatcher and day-to-day manager for our delivery drivers.

- Put couriers on shifts: build and confirm the shift schedule, and fill open slots when someone cancels or doesn't show.

- Track attendance in real time: confirm who has arrived, who is late, and who is a no-show, and record it.

- Make sure couriers are logged in on time, on the correct shift, and in the correct delivery zone.

- Monitor active couriers on the delivery platform during the shift and move people between areas when demand shifts.

- Help couriers with problems on the road and at the store: app and account issues, bike or battery trouble, order and pickup problems, and safety concerns.

- Coach couriers on performance metrics (on-time delivery, acceptance, and hours worked) and flag repeat issues to management.

- Hand over open issues, schedule changes, and courier notes to the next supervisor at the end of each shift.

Inventory, assets, and a safe, organized store

You own the store and everything in it, and you're accountable for keeping the team safe and the operation running in an orderly way.

- Take full ownership of inventory and asset accountability: e-bikes, batteries, chargers, spare parts, tools, and any equipment issued to couriers.

- Keep records accurate in our inventory system, run regular counts and audits, and resolve discrepancies quickly. Our goal is 100% accuracy.

- Coordinate the full bike readiness cycle with the mechanic: diagnostics, repair prioritization, and a final quality check before a bike goes back into service.

- Help prevent loss: control access to bikes and batteries, document every check-out and return, and report missing or damaged equipment right away.

- Keep the store safe, organized, and efficient: a clean workspace, labeled storage, safe battery charging and storage, clear walkways, and safety equipment in place.

- Follow and enforce company policies, operating procedures, and safety standards, and hold the team accountable with clear expectations and consistent follow-up.

- Track attendance, bike uptime, inventory accuracy, and hours worked using dashboards and reports, and turn the data into action.

Schedule

- 10-hour shifts at the store, 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, including a 30-minute unpaid lunch (9.5 paid hours per shift).

- Possibility for alternating weeks of 4 days and 3 days.

- Every other weekend off, with weekends shared equally between the two supervisors.

- No overtime: you will not work more than 40 hours in a week.

- You're the only supervisor on shift. Lunch is taken in the midday lull, and you're fully off duty during it.

Requirements

- Authorized to work in the U.S. and able to pass a background check.

- Available to work weekends and evenings on the rotating schedule.

- Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working alone as the only supervisor on shift.

- Organized: you can follow a checklist and keep accurate counts of bikes, batteries, and parts.

- Hands-on experience with inventory management, stock control, audits, asset tracking, or loss prevention.

- Strong sense of ownership and accountability: you follow procedures, keep accurate records, and hold others to the same standard.

- Comfortable using KPI dashboards or performance-tracking tools and turning the data into practical decisions.

- Clear communicator with couriers, the mechanic, and management, in English (Spanish is a plus).

- Comfortable on a smartphone and computer.

- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and be on your feet for most of the shift.

Nice to have but not required

- Experience with bike or e-bike shops, delivery, logistics, or warehouse operations.

- Familiarity with lithium-ion battery handling and charging safety.

- Previous experience supervising or dispatching couriers, drivers, or retail staff.

- Basic bike repair skills.
