Position Summary
The HR Business Partner (HRBP) acts as a strategic partner to the organization’s leadership, aligning human resources strategies with business objectives to drive organizational success. This role focuses on workforce planning, employee relations, talent management, and organizational development to ensure business goals are met while maintaining a positive and engaged workforce.
Key Responsibilities
Employee and Management Support

Serve as the main point of contact for employees with human resources questions, including but not limited to benefits, compensation, safety, and organization-wide policies and procedures.

Facilitate the rollout of HR programs, policies, and initiatives within assigned business units.

Ensure compliance with employment laws, regulations, and company policies.

Support diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives.
Performance Management

Educate supervisors in performance management best practices.

Provide guidance to supervisors as they coach, correct, and mentor staff.

Provide support for supervisors’ performance management activities, including but not limited to ensuring that performance concerns and the responses are adequately documented and filed.
Culture and Compliance

Wherever possible in all activities, act in the best interest of City Net to reduce organizational risk, and comply with all contracts, applicable laws, regulations, labor codes, and City Net policies.

Establish, update, and maintain Human Resources-related procedures to ensure efficient organizational functioning and compliance.

Update Employee Handbook at least annually to ensure it is accurate, accessible, current, consistent, and compliant.

Maintain a working knowledge of national, statewide, and local laws, regulations, and leading practices that affect HR policies and procedures.

Ensure fair and timely resolution to HR-related organizational concerns and employee disputes.
Wellness and Safety

Administer Workers’ Compensation and Disability claims and to all requests for Leave and/or Reasonable Accommodations.

Educate current and potential staff on City Net’s compensation and benefits.

Answer current and potential staff questions about health insurance and vacation and sick leave policies/accruals.

Ensure that the organization is OSHA-compliant, manage the OSHA log, and develop and implement organization-wide procedures for safety, ergonomics, and emergency preparedness.
Qualifications

Minimum one (1) year of California-specific HR work

Proven history of meeting or exceeding challenging goals

Basic understanding of and/or familiarity with resources regarding national and California-specific HR regulations and best practices, particularly in nonprofit organizations and organizations with over 50 employees

Excellent sense of discretion and respect for confidentiality

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy
Qualifications

Working Conditions

Work is primarily performed in an office and administrative environment with frequent use of computers and digital communication systems.
