ABOUT THE ROLE
Join an early-stage AI company building growth tools for consumer brands as its second engineer. This hands-on player-coach role will shape the product, engineering culture, and architecture, with a focus on reliable systems that help merchants improve their growth operations.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Build data infrastructure that tracks merchant lifecycle events and connects actions to outcomes.
- Develop an agentic growth system that assesses operations, identifies opportunities, and automates changes.
- Own full-stack development of the growth engine, with a strong focus on backend systems and infrastructure.
- Build reliable integrations with commerce, advertising, and marketing platforms, along with orchestration tooling.
- Mentor engineers while contributing hands-on to daily product development.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Five to eight years of full-stack engineering experience, with strong backend experience in data infrastructure, event systems, or API integrations.
- Production experience building and owning agentic or LLM-powered systems that integrate with third-party APIs.
- Experience with Python, TypeScript, LLMs, and commerce or marketing APIs such as Shopify, Meta Ads, TikTok Ads, or Klaviyo.
- Experience leading or mentoring engineers, and the ability to prioritize work and create structure in ambiguous settings.
- Experience at an early-stage startup, including during Series A to C growth, or a strong engineering education background.
- Strong communication skills and a consistent record of contributing to engineering teams.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Base salary is $175,000 to $225,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available.
