Frontify - Solutions Engineer - NYC
Frontify · New York, New York, United States · hybrid
USD 135,000 to 160,000 per year
Frontify is the brand platform behind some of the world's leading organizations, including Microsoft, Telefónica, Bosch, Mercedes-Benz, and Kia. We help every team bring brands to life — with governance in one place, seamless workflows across the tools people already use, and a foundation that's ready for AI.
We're driven by collaboration, curiosity, and the belief that great work can happen anywhere. What began in St. Gallen has grown to London, New York, and beyond. Wherever you join us, you'll take ownership from day one, shape work that reaches global brands, and help redefine how brands work in the age of AI.
Your Team
You’ll join Customer Delivery, the department responsible for creating a seamless, high-quality path from sale to value – making sure every customer is successfully implemented, activated, and set up for long-term success. Customer Delivery brings together technical expertise, implementation, project management, and solutions consulting, and works closely with Sales, Customer Success, Product, Engineering, and our implementation partners.
Within it, Technical Solutions is a diverse team of Solutions Consultants, Solutions Engineers, and AI specialists who aim to know everything about anything Frontify. We love asking questions that drive learning and bringing that knowledge to colleagues and customers. Working cross-functionally, we bridge gaps between Technology, Business, and Services to create a panoramic view of the business. We’re a team that’s all about trying new things, and we value creativity, autonomy, transparency, solidarity, and a can-do attitude.
Your Mission
We’re looking for a US-based Solutions Engineer to be Frontify’s technical specialist for customers with complex needs. Wherever a conversation or project needs more technical depth than a standard solution – before the sale, after it, or during delivery – that’s where you come in. You’ll be the go-to for API, SDK, and deeply technical conversations, and you’ll own the technical side of custom extensions built on top of the platform: apps, blocks, themes, integrations, and workflows.
To do that well, you’ll know Frontify inside out – the product itself, and the technical layer beneath it. You’ll understand how it fits alongside the tools our customers rely on, from Figma and InDesign to DAMs, PIMs, CMSs, and automation platforms. Teams turn to you when a conversation goes beneath the interface: how our APIs and data model behave at scale, how authentication and access work across connected systems, or how far a use case can be taken with our SDKs and custom extensions.
Working alongside our commercial teams – Account Executives, Account Managers, and Customer Success – as well as Solutions Consultants, you’ll take solution design to a deeper technical level and shape the requirements for custom work with our implementation partners. Once a project moves into delivery, you’ll stay close as partners’ technical counterpart and validate what they build before go-live. You’ll also help shape how Solutions Engineering works in the US, alongside our European team.
Your Responsibilities
- Leading technical conversations with customers and prospects on Frontify’s APIs, SDKs, authentication, and extensibility.
- Partnering with Solutions Consultants on solution design, taking it to the technical depth complex customers require.
- Running technical discovery and designing solutions – how systems connect, how data flows, and how custom extensions are built to scale.
- Owning the technical direction of custom extensions on Frontify from design through go-live.
- Defining requirements for custom work with implementation partners and mapping dependencies into the project plan.
- Acting as partners’ technical point of contact through delivery, and validating extension builds against the agreed design before go-live.
- Building prototypes and proofs of concept that de-risk solutions and show what’s possible.
- Turning recurring solutions into reusable reference architectures, and sharing customer insights with Product and Engineering to help shape the roadmap.
Your Story
- 4+ years of experience as a Solutions Engineer, Solutions Architect, Solutions Consultant, or Customer-facing Software Engineer – ideally in SaaS.
- You don’t need to be a full-time developer, but you’re comfortable getting hands-on: working with APIs (REST and GraphQL) and webhooks, handling authentication, pagination, and errors, and debugging when things break.
- An understanding of common authentication methods such as SSO, SAML, and OAuth.
- Experience designing or scoping technical solutions – such as integrations, automations, or custom tools – for customers or internal teams.
- Comfortable building small prototypes and proofs of concept with JavaScript or TypeScript and React – our SDKs are built on it. Experience can come from work or your own projects.
- A quick study who becomes a product expert fast and learns new tools with ease.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences, from developers and partners to senior stakeholders.
- A pragmatic problem-solver who knows when to build, when to simplify, and when to challenge a requirement rather than over-engineer.
- A focus on value, without mistaking action for progress.
- Confidence challenging assumptions and guiding peers through complex technical issues.
- Comfortable with ambiguity, ownership, and working across many teams.
- Ability to work in a hybrid format, with one to two days per week in our New York office.
Nice to Have
- Experience building on or alongside DAM, PIM, CMS, or MarTech platforms.
- Hands-on experience with design tool extensibility, such as Figma plugins or Adobe InDesign.
- Experience building workflows in automation platforms such as Tray.io http://Tray.io, n8n, or similar.
- Familiarity with LLMs, MCP, or agentic workflows.
- Experience as the technical counterpart to implementation partners or agencies, reviewing and accepting their work.
- Familiarity with brand, creative operations, or marketing teams and how they work.
