ABOUT THE ROLE
Join an early-stage AI customer success software team as a Founding Forward Deployed Engineer. You will work directly with enterprise customers to deploy AI agents in production, own technical rollouts end to end, and bring field learnings back into the product.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Work with customers to understand onboarding, adoption, and renewal workflows, then identify where AI agents can deliver value.
- Configure and deploy agents using customer data sources, including data warehouses and CRM systems, and set up authentication and integrations.
- Build evaluations using real customer data and iterate on agent quality before production launch.
- Partner with go-to-market teams during technical sales, activation, and account expansion.
- Turn customer feedback into product improvements, including addressing platform limitations.
- Debug production deployments, investigate root causes, and expand solutions from an initial value-focused implementation.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Three to seven years of experience in customer-facing software engineering, forward deployed engineering, solutions engineering, or related deployment work.
- Hands-on experience building and deploying LLM agents for customers, including prompt development, evaluations, and complex long-running agents.
- Strong Python and FastAPI backend skills, plus React frontend experience; familiarity with PostgreSQL, RAG, BigQuery, CI/CD, and agent frameworks is useful.
- Experience owning customer rollouts and working in an early-stage or high-growth startup environment, with stable role tenure and recent career progression.
- Strong computer science fundamentals and experience working across both customer-facing deployments and software engineering teams.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Base salary: $180,000 to $230,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.
LOCATION
Hybrid role based in San Francisco, California.
