The Production Scheduling Manager develops and maintains an integrated plant schedule that aligns incoming materials, production requirements, by-product generation, inventory availability, and outbound liquid and powder shipments at our Jerome West Facility. This role coordinates across Operations, Procurement, Warehousing, Quality, and Transportation to support safe, efficient production and on-time shipment execution while promptly communicating constraints and schedule changes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and communicate the integrated production schedule based on incoming material availability, production capacity, inventory levels, customer requirements, and shipping commitments.
- Maintain a working understanding of all incoming products and ingredients, products manufactured, by-products generated, storage requirements, and liquid/powder shipping capabilities.
- Coordinate inbound delivery schedules with Procurement, traffic coordinators, carriers, truck drivers, and intake operators to support timely unloading and uninterrupted production.
- Translate production plans into clear daily and weekly schedules, including production sequence, expected volumes, changeovers, storage needs, and shipment timing.
- Track products produced and by-products generated against the schedule; identify capacity, inventory, storage, or transportation constraints and coordinate corrective actions.
- Schedule and coordinate outbound liquid shipments, including carrier timing, product availability, tank capacity, load sequencing, and required documentation.
- Schedule and coordinate outbound powder shipments, including finished-goods availability, warehouse staging, carrier appointments, load sequencing, and required documentation.
- Communicate schedule priorities, changes, constraints, and recovery plans to plant leadership, Operations, Warehousing, Quality, Procurement, Customer Service, and Transportation.
- Provide complete shift handoffs and planning updates so incoming teams understand production priorities, inbound deliveries, outbound shipments, and unresolved issues.
- Notify Procurement and other stakeholders when inbound schedules cannot be met and coordinate alternatives, including load diversion or rescheduling.
- Maintain accurate schedules and planning information in applicable ERP, scheduling, inventory, and transportation systems.
- Support investigation and reconciliation of inventory discrepancies in partnership with the Business Office Administrator, Controller, Warehousing, and Operations.
- Monitor schedule attainment and recommend process improvements that enhance production flow, inventory accuracy, asset utilization, and on-time shipping performance.
- Perform other scheduling, logistics, and administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years experience in finance, inventory control, or purchasing in a manufacturing environment
- Hands on knowledge of ERP systems, process improvement, or manufacturing tools
- Strong project management, interpersonal and analytical skills
- Excellent knowledge of Computer Business Systems and their applications
- APICS certification preferred
