Executive Director, Digital Assets Platform Manager

Westpac · Sydney, NSW, Australia

Create your best future and join Westpac as the Digital Assets Platform Manager

What’s the role?

You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping Westpac’s future in digital payments and transaction banking. As Digital Assets Platform Manager within our Institutional Bank, you’ll be accountable for a reusable platform that enables multiple commercial products and internal consumers across the bank. You will be responsible for the definition of the platform strategy, consumer integration, service measures and roadmap.

Based in Sydney or Melbourne, this full-time executive role sits within Global Transaction Services and gives you enterprise-wide accountability for building a credible, compliant digital asset capability. You’ll translate strategy into clear platform roadmaps, lead a portfolio of initiatives from concept through to scaled delivery, and ensure strong governance, investment discipline and executive decision-making throughout.

You’ll work closely with technology, risk, legal, compliance and financial crime teams to ensure innovation is balanced with regulatory credibility. You’ll also engage senior leaders across the Group and represent Westpac externally with industry partners, market infrastructure providers and regulators. This is a role for a leader who’s comfortable operating in complexity, influencing at the highest levels and turning emerging ideas into real customer and business outcomes.

What do I need?

You’ll bring senior leadership capability, strategic judgement and a practical approach to delivering change in regulated environments.

- Experience leading strategy and complex delivery within institutional banking, payments or transaction services.

- Strong working knowledge of digital assets, tokenisation, stablecoins and distributed ledger technologies, applied in a regulated setting.

- Ability to translate strategy into clear platform direction, investment cases and executable roadmaps.

- Proven experience partnering with technology, risk, legal and compliance teams to deliver initiatives that are compliant by design.

- Executive presence and influence, with the ability to simplify complexity, guide decision-making and operate confidently in ambiguity.

- Set and manage service outcomes including availability, latency, throughput, recovery, data quality and support.

- Partner with engineering, architecture and operations on feasibility, sustainable design and delivery.

- Own operational readiness, service health, incident learning and root-cause improvement.
