Who We Are Looking For ✏️
Rocket.Chat is looking for a hands-on, results-driven Marketing Manager to run marketing for the defense and intelligence sector in North America. Experience marketing to defense and intelligence audiences is required, and a military background is a strong plus. This is an individual contributor and full-stack marketing role with a strong focus on channel partner marketing: most of our pipeline in this region is created with and through partners, so you will spend much of your time finding joint opportunities, running co-marketing programs, and helping partners sell Rocket.Chat. You will work side by side with our sales team, understand which accounts and programs they are targeting, and adjust the marketing strategy to match. Alongside partner work, you will run paid digital (LinkedIn Ads, Google Ads, Reddit), social media, content, email and newsletters, and partner-led events, using AI to move faster across all of it.
Mandatory Hard Skills 🎯
- 4+ years of B2B or B2G technology marketing, with a strong focus on channel and partner marketing in the defense and intelligence industry
- Proven experience marketing to US defense, military and intelligence organizations, with a solid understanding of how they buy, who the key primes and integrators are, and the language operators and program offices use.
- Proven track record running co-marketing programs with system integrators, resellers, or technology alliances that generated measurable pipeline.
- Hands-on experience running paid campaigns on LinkedIn, Google, Reddit, and AI search.
- Full-stack marketing skills across paid digital, social, content, email and newsletters, and events.
- Practical, everyday use of AI tools for content, video, research, and campaign work.
- Proficiency in marketing automation and sales tools (e.g., HubSpot, Apollo), CRM (e.g., Zoho), and analytics (e.g., Google Analytics).
- Ability to write clear, mission-focused messaging for defense and intelligence buyers.
- Turning our messaging into sales presentations, materials, content, and RFI and proposal responses.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to run several initiatives at once with little supervision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field.
Desirable Hard Skills 💕
- US military veteran, prior service or civilian work in the DoD or Intelligence Community.
- Active security clearance, or the ability to obtain one.
- Experience marketing secure communications or other mission-critical technology.
- Established relationships within the defense contractor and partner ecosystem.
- Familiarity with defense procurement, contracting vehicles, and security and compliance requirements.
- Experience creating or editing video content.
Soft Skills ✨
- Passion: Genuine enthusiasm for what you do and how it contributes to our company's mission;
- Dream: Proactively seek out opportunities and challenges to achieve extraordinary results. If you're someone who takes initiative and is always striving to improve, you'll fit right in;
- Own: Take ownership of your work, set high standards for yourself, and be accountable for outcomes, demonstrating a strong sense of responsibility and commitment;
- Trust: Recognizing the importance of trust and support and actively working towards a collaborative and inclusive workplace;
- Share: Communicating openly and transparently ensures clarity and honesty in interactions.
