Team Lead System Engineering

Your mission
- Lead, mentor, and develop a distributed System Engineering team across Europe.
- Own and operate core IT services including Windows/Linux servers, Active Directory, virtualization platforms, backup solutions, and database services.
- Manage and continuously improve VMware, Proxmox, Kubernetes, MSSQL, and PostgreSQL environments.
- Ensure high availability, performance, capacity planning, backup, disaster recovery, and operational resilience.
- Act as the escalation point for critical incidents and drive effective resolution across teams.
- Promote automation, standardization, Infrastructure-as-Code, and operational excellence.
- Oversee system changes, maintenance activities, releases, and lifecycle management.
- Ensure compliance with security, audit, licensing, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation and operational procedures.
- Collaborate closely with Network, Security, and Application teams in an international environment.
- Manage on-call readiness and operational support processes.
Your profile
- Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 7+ years of experience in System Engineering, IT Infrastructure, or a similar role, including leadership responsibilities.
- Strong expertise in Windows Server, Active Directory, and enterprise infrastructure environments.
- Hands-on experience with VMware, Proxmox, Kubernetes, MSSQL, and PostgreSQL.
- Solid Linux administration skills and experience with Azure and/or AWS, ideally in hybrid environments.
- Strong knowledge of monitoring, incident management, capacity planning, backup, and disaster recovery concepts.
- Experience with Jira and Confluence for documentation, planning, and operational processes.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluent in English and German.
- Willingness to travel internationally (10–20%).
