The Operations Manager serves as the second-shift warehouse lead for a large source distribution center, providing daily operational leadership across safety, quality, service, productivity, workforce execution, and facility readiness. This role is responsible for leading second-shift warehouse operations while supporting SIS project delivery, dealer-facing service recovery, facilities reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives.
The Operations Manager ensures operational continuity by aligning people, process, equipment, facilities, and service requirements to meet business objectives. The role requires strong distribution operations experience, sound business acumen, disciplined execution, and the ability to translate operational priorities into measurable performance outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead second-shift warehouse operations, including daily execution, staffing alignment, safety performance, quality adherence, productivity, and service stability.
• Provide visible leadership on the warehouse floor by coaching area managers, supervisors, team leaders, and hourly employees to drive accountability, engagement, and consistent execution.
• Manage daily operational priorities, issue resolution, escalation processes, and shift handoffs to ensure continuity across shifts and functions.
• Support SIS project planning, implementation, go-live execution, stabilization, and continuous improvement activities within the distribution center.
• Serve as a dealer-facing customer service leader by supporting service recovery, issue resolution, communication, and operational follow-through.
• Own building, grounds, site maintenance, and facilities readiness activities to support safe, reliable, and compliant warehouse operations.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, regulatory, labor, and operational standards across assigned areas of responsibility.
• Manage preventative and corrective maintenance governance, including repairs, inspections, vendor coordination, asset reliability, and infrastructure execution.
• Apply industrial engineering and continuous improvement principles to improve warehouse storage efficiency, slotting, process flow, productivity, and cost performance.
• Analyze distribution center cost drivers, operational constraints, service impacts, complexity, and execution risks to support sound business decisions.
• Leverage reporting tools, analytics, and technology-enabled insights to monitor performance, identify trends, and support operational problem solving.
• Support customer safety, quality campaign management, and other business-critical initiatives requiring disciplined execution and cross-functional coordination.
