Location: Hybrid role based in Edwardsville, Illinois, with extensive nationwide travel of up to 80% to meet with clients, potential clients, and witnesses.

Note: Candidates must have 2+ years of attorney experience, be actively licensed to practice law in Illinois, and be comfortable traveling nationwide up to 80%. Deposition or trial experience is strongly preferred.

Job Description

- Represent clients in complex occupational exposure and serious illness litigation

- Develop and prepare assigned cases in collaboration with attorneys and litigation support professionals

- Conduct in-person and telephone interviews with clients, potential clients, and fact witnesses

- Prepare for and conduct fact witness depositions

- Review and analyze medical, employment, military, union, Social Security, and other relevant records

- Evaluate testimony and evidence to identify important facts and strengthen case strategy

- Prepare clear summaries of deposition testimony and investigative findings

- Communicate closely with clients and adapt quickly as their medical conditions and case needs evolve

- Travel throughout the United States to meet clients and witnesses

- Perform legal research and writing in support of active litigation

Qualifications

- 2+ years of attorney experience

- Active Illinois law license required

- Deposition or trial experience preferred

- Strong legal research, writing, interviewing, and communication skills

- Ability to analyze complex medical, industrial, employment, and factual information

- Excellent organization, judgment, and problem-solving skills

- Compassionate and professional approach when working with seriously ill clients and their families

- Ability and willingness to travel nationwide up to 80%

- Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment background check
