SAP BO TECHNICAL EXPERT
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer with strong expertise in SAP Business Objects (SAP BO) environments, capable of supporting large-scale migration, upgrade, and optimization initiatives. The ideal candidate will play a key role in the design, implementation, governance, and evolution of SAP BO solutions, ensuring high-performance data architectures and seamless reporting capabilities across enterprise environments.
What You Will Do on a Daily Basis
- Design, create, and evolve SAP Business Objects Universes (UNV and UNX).
- Participate in SAP BO platform upgrade and migration projects, including major version transitions.
- Design and optimize high-performance data models, queries, and data pipelines.
- Implement and manage SAP BO security models, including users, groups, roles, and access restrictions.
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot SAP BO environments on Linux servers.
- Migrate and reconfigure SAP BO connections across multiple database technologies.
- Perform functional, regression, performance, and security testing activities.
- Analyze dependencies between universes, reports, schedules, and data sources.
- Monitor platform performance, execute root-cause analysis, and resolve critical incidents.
- Produce technical documentation, operational procedures, migration documentation, and governance standards.
- Support post-go-live activities and hypercare phases.
Your Key Skills
- Expert knowledge of SAP Business Objects and its core components.
- Strong database management expertise, including SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, and Sybase.
- Experience with SAP BO Universe Design Tool and Information Design Tool (IDT).
- Linux administration and SAP BO deployment in enterprise environments.
- Data pipeline design and performance optimization.
- Knowledge of backup, restore, high availability, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Troubleshooting, auditing, log analysis, and performance analysis capabilities.
- Familiarity with Python and data visualization tools such as Power BI, Alteryx, or Dataiku.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving mindset.
- Excellent collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
Your Main Qualifications
- University degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven experience in large enterprise SAP BI environments supporting extensive reporting ecosystems and user communities.
- Demonstrated expertise in SAP BO upgrades, migrations, and architecture implementation projects.
- Experience working with multiple database technologies and complex data environments.
- Knowledge of digital product deployments and third-party data governance is considered a plus.
- Previous experience in large-scale international environments is valued.
- Professional proficiency in English.
- French language skills are considered an advantage.
