Darebin is embarking on an exciting transformation journey to use data and analytics more effectively to drive improved decision-making. This role is crucial in setting up, designing, and developing the analytics platform.
We are looking for a Data Engineer to design, architect, and build our first-ever enterprise data management platform from the absolute ground up. This isn't a maintenance gig. There is no legacy technical debt to slow you down, no "spaghetti code" to untangle, and no pre-existing blueprints to restrict your creativity. You are employee number one for this initiative, meaning you get to choose to build the solution and establish the data culture for our organisation.

About the role:
The role is to design, develop, and maintain analytics platform, data engineering pipelines, ETL, and basic reporting using the Microsoft stack (Fabric, Power BI, SSRS) alongside the new ERP transformation program.
You will:
Data Engineering
• Design, build and maintain batch or real-time data pipelines.
• Develop ETL (extract, transform, load) processes to help extract and manipulate data from multiple sources
• Automate data workflows such as data ingestion, aggregation, and ETL processing.
Data Modelling
• Develop and maintain data models and data transformations that support accurate, performant and well-governed reporting solutions.
• Prepare raw data into a consumable datasets for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Capability Support
• Provide guidance and strategic direction on software stack supporting Data warehousing, ETL processes and workflow pipelines
About you:

• SQL and database querying for data extraction and transformation.
• Understanding of data warehousing and ETL concepts and architecture.
• Knowledge of data governance, data quality management and information security
• Ability to conduct data analysis and communicate insights clearly to non-technical audiences.
• Familiarity with Council enterprise systems and organisational data sources.
