What’s the role?
We are seeking an experienced MongoDB Software Engineer with a solid understanding of how applications are built on MongoDB. The role combines MongoDB administration and operations with hands-on application development experience. You will help new initiatives onboard to MongoDB, guide development teams on data modelling, schema design and query optimisation, and provide practical troubleshooting support for production issues. Experience with MongoDB Atlas is preferred but not essential.
What do I need?
- Hands-on experience developing applications that use MongoDB, including data modelling, schema design, indexing and query optimisation.
- Strong experience administering and supporting MongoDB environments, including performance tuning, backup and recovery, and replication.
- Programming experience in one or more languages commonly used with MongoDB, such as Java, Python, Node.js or C#.
- Experience supporting development teams through onboarding, solution design, testing and production issue resolution.
- General platform engineering experience, such as automation, scripting, CI/CD, and working with cloud or containerised environments.
- Working knowledge of database activities including bulk data loading and data migration.
- Experience with MongoDB Atlas is preferred but not essential.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to give practical guidance to delivery teams.
