Their work supports the strategic goals of the organization and ensures a safe environment for all stakeholders.

WHAT ARE SOME OF THE RESPONSIBILITIES

Conduct Airside Traffic Directive and AVOP Program Enforcement, including monitoring and/or ticketing for compliance with all AVOP, Airside Traffic Directive, and general safety policies and procedures.

Identify hazards to safe operation on the airfield, inclusive of personnel, vehicle, and aircraft traffic, with the ability and expectation to immediately correct as may be necessary. Determine appropriate actions to address immediate safety threats and implement immediate containment actions to prevent further loss or injury.

Conduct fulsome investigations into safety events that occur airside, collaborating with airfield tenants, contractors, and YYC Crew to ensure all safety incidents are addressed and corrective actions are in place to prevent re-occurrence. Establish and communicate investigative conclusions and review and approve corrective actions from tenants, contractors, and YYC leadership.

Assess processes, systems, and engineering deficiencies to determine human and organizational factors that contribute to incidents. Utilize the results of these assessments to determine appropriate application of engineering controls, education, or enforcement.

Prepare complete and accurate AVOP violation records, aviation safety reports, and investigation documentation in accordance with the Safety Management System, investigation procedures, and Safety Compliance Officer requirements.
