Diploma Qualified ChildCare Educator | KU Goulburn & Southern Highlands

KU Children's Services · Moss Vale, NSW, Australia

What is the Permanent Relief Team?

The Permanent Relief Team (PR) is a group of qualified professionals, including Early Childhood Teachers, Diploma and Cooks who support KU services by filling temporary vacancies, for example planned leave or vacant positions. Unlike casual staff, PR team members are permanent employees and play a vital role in:

- Maintaining consistent, responsive relationships with children and families

- Upholding the quality of KU’s education and care

KU services are grouped by region, and team members travel within their allocated area to all services. The team is supported by a Permanent Relief Manager and dedicated coordinators, with rosters typically provided 6–8 weeks in advance.

The Role

Due to the continued success of the PR team, we are recruiting for a Diploma Qualified Educator to work across out two services in the Southern Highlands and at Goulburn Preschool.

This role suits someone who thrives in play-based environments, enjoys variety, and values building meaningful connections with children, families, and colleagues.

The position is preferred to be full time, however a part-time arrangement of 3-4 days per week would be considered for the right candidate.

Flexibility is essential. You will work a range of opening and closing shifts across 3 services, with occasional short-notice changes to your schedule. A valid driver’s licence and access to a car are required, you will receive a travel allowance in line with KU’s travel policy.

You will report to the Permanent Relief Manager, who provides tailored support and mentorship. The PR team also connects through an annual professional development day and optional networking sessions.
