About the team

This role resides within the Business Partner Experience in Revenue Digital. We are a project squad, and this role will be responsible for the development of a core Revenue NSW application.

In this role, you will closely work with key business stakeholders along with internal Revenue digital teams while contributing to enhance the business processes of Revenue's applications as they modernise to take advantage of cloud-native capabilities.

Your day-to-day

- Identify and analyze existing business processes, systems and functional requirements to document and recommend improvements that enhance business operations and performance.

- Lead high-level discovery activities, including stakeholder workshops, problem definition, process mapping, and identification of business needs, opportunities, and constraints.

- Understand, document, analyze and validate business, functional and non-functional requirements to support the delivery of business outcomes.

- Influence and negotiate with stakeholders to obtain consensus for change initiatives and support business and product decision-making.

- Gather, analyze and translate business data into meaningful insights to support informed decision-making and improve the effectiveness of processes and programs.

- Facilitate workshops, refinement sessions and stakeholder discussions to clarify requirements and resolve ambiguities.

- Create, maintain and continuously improve user stories, acceptance criteria, epics and features, ensuring they are ready for development and testing.

- Lead and actively participate in backlog refinement sessions, ensuring requirements are well understood, appropriately sized and prioritised.

- Partner with Product Owners and stakeholders to prioritise initiatives, features, enhancements and backlog items, ensuring work is aligned to strategic objectives and business value.

- Liaise with internal customers and stakeholders to review and monitor the effectiveness of tools, systems, methods and standards to ensure consistency and quality of outcomes.

- Manage the development, facilitation, coordination and communication of initiatives and strategies by applying best practice methodologies to ensure organisational consistency and improved business performance.

- Manage and coordinate testing activities to ensure critical business functionality is validated and quality solutions are delivered and accepted by key stakeholders.

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:

- 5+ years' experience as a Business Analyst within Agile product or technology delivery environments, working closely with Product Owners and delivery teams.

- Proven experience in business discovery, requirements gathering, analysis and documentation across complex initiatives.

- Strong capability in prioritising requirements, managing product backlogs, and facilitating stakeholder workshops to align business and delivery outcomes.

- Demonstrated experience in writing user stories, acceptance criteria, epics and features, and leading backlog refinement activities using tools such as JIRA and Confluence.

- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complex requirements, resolve competing priorities, and support solution validation within Agile delivery frameworks.

Salary Grade 9/10, with the base salary for this role starting at $133,348 base plus superannuation
