You believe parents are one of the greatest spiritual influences in the lives of their children and that the church has an important role in partnering with them. You’ll help create intentional bridges between Calvary Kids, Calvary Youth and the home so parents feel informed, supported, connected and equipped. You’ll develop resources, relationships, environments and opportunities that help parents grow spiritually, lead their families and strengthen discipleship at home.

Able to organize and administer the practical implementation of the vision.

Able to provide collaborative leadership, oversight and support for volunteers and staff for activities in Family Ministry.

You will:

-

Lead, Organize, Teach and Execute Parent/Child Dedication classes and Dedication Day.

-

Develop and coordinate a clear parenting strategy that equips and empowers parents to be the primary disciplers in their homes

-

Partner with Calvary Kids and Calvary Youth to create intentional bridges between church and home, helping parents engage with what their children are learning and experiencing

-

Develop practical resources, tools and opportunities that help parents lead spiritually at home, including parenting talks, classes, groups, discussion guides and prayer resources

-

Lead and develop the Kids and Youth Parent Team, creating consistent opportunities to hear from parents, gather feedback and identify the needs of families

-

Build relationships with parents through regular meetings, weekend presence and intentional connection, helping parents feel known, supported and connected to appropriate ministry resources and next steps

-

Connect with Volunteers for care and relationship.

-

Connect Parents and Volunteers to Mens, Womens, Couples, Care and Outreach ministries.

-

Develop and oversee parent prayer, community and connection opportunities that encourage parents and strengthen relationships among families

-

Coordinate key parenting and family initiatives, including Parent Child Dedications,Key milestones, Parent and Child opportunities

-

Develop and coordinate parent communication in partnership with Calvary Kids, Youth Ministry and Communications so parents are informed, equipped and know how to engage

-

Recruit, equip and empower parent leaders and volunteers to serve, lead, mentor, pray and help strengthen the partnership between parents and Family Ministry

-

Connect Families to serve together for local and global opportunities.

-

Care for and support families in times of need and crisis.

-

Support and strengthen family ministries and initiatives including American Heritage Girls and Trail Life

-

Collaborate with CCA parenting groups and Parenting Initiatives

You have:

-

Excellent interpersonal skills – especially dealing with children and volunteers

-

Excellent communication skills – ability to effectively communicate ideas, vision, purpose, etc.

-

Spiritual gifts of leadership, teaching, administration, hospitality, service, helps and discernment.

-

A love for the next generation

-

Strong Computer skills (Proficiency in Google Suites and Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, MP)

A servant leader’s heart

Excellent organizational skills with an appreciation for details.

The ability to connect well with kids and adults

The ability to be flexible and demonstrate excellent time management skills.

The ability to complete projects on time and follow-through efficiently

The ability to manage people well and has good leadership qualities of overseeing volunteers

The ability to remain calm and level headed when faced with pressing needs or injury in Family ministry or at an event

The ability to relate to both parents and children depending on specific situations.

What you are required to know:

This is a full-time (45 hours/week) salary exempt position

You may have to work evenings and/or weekends to assist with special events or emergencies

Staff culture is important to what we do. To love like family, we require all staff to attend all staff meetings, department meetings and serve with a willing heart especially at all major campus events.
