Senior Manager, Amazon (Marketplaces)
Comfrt · United States · remote
About Us:
Comfrt is one of the fastest-growing direct-to-consumer brands, dedicated to blending mental wellness, inclusivity, and elevated comfort into every piece we create. Our mission goes beyond clothing. We strive to build a community where everyone feels supported and seen.
About the Role:
As Senior Manager, Amazon & Marketplaces, you will run the day-to-day execution of Comfrt's marketplace portfolio. Amazon is our anchor platform, and you will support the build-out of the next wave of marketplaces, starting with Faire and extending to US and international platforms. You will turn portfolio strategy from our Senior Director into clear plans, owners, and measurable results across GMV, margin, and brand health.
You bring hands-on experience in a fast-moving, multi-SKU business, ideally in retail or beauty, where catalog complexity, inventory decisions, and promotional calendars change quickly. Amazon experience is a strong plus. You are comfortable managing the detail, owning the numbers, and turning data into action.
You will partner with Paid Media, Marketing, Ops, Merchandising, Finance, CX, Data & Insights, and Performance-Led Creative to grow marketplaces efficiently, strengthen Comfrt's brand on each platform, and create halo effect into DTC and other channels.
What You'll Do:
Portfolio Performance & Planning
- Manage marketplace GMV, contribution margin, and profitability against plan, and report results to the Senior Director and Finance.
- Support the development of annual operating plans, forecasts, and inventory strategy aligned with company targets.
- Manage Amazon channel execution, including 1P vs. 3P, FBA/FBM/AWD mix, and pricing architecture.
- Support launch of new marketplaces (starting with Faire) by preparing market analysis, launch plans, and go/no-go inputs based on margin, brand fit, and enterprise value.
- Recommend participation in tentpole events (Prime Day, Walmart Deals, Holiday, platform deal events), weighing growth against profitability, and execute once approved.
- Translate marketplace goals into channel-level plans that connect to DTC, brand, and enterprise targets.
Operations & Inventory
- Manage inventory planning, forecasting, and replenishment across fulfillment models (FBA, FBM, AWD) and platforms.
- Manage wholesale operations and inventory for Faire, driving efficiency and sell-through.
- Monitor in-stock rate, IPI score (and platform equivalents), stranded inventory, and aged SKUs, and drive corrective action.
- Coordinate supply chain execution with central ops, 3PLs, and vendors.
- Build and maintain SOPs and workflows that scale across marketplaces and reduce operational friction and cost.
Retail Media & Advertising
- Assist and Advice retail media execution across Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, Sponsored Display, DSP, and equivalents (Walmart Connect, TikTok, etc.).
- Execute keyword and ASIN strategy (harvest, defend, conquest) and day-to-day ad budget allocation within the approved portfolio plan.
- Track and optimize TACoS, incrementality, new-to-brand growth, and media-driven profitability.
- Partner with Paid Media and Ecomm/SEO teams to drive conversion lift and organic ranking.
- Evaluate beta programs and new paid products across platforms.
Catalog, Listings & Compliance
- Oversee storefront and catalog health across marketplaces to ensure full optimization.
- Ensure platform compliance to minimize the risk of deranking or suppression. Partner with the Brand Protection team on Brand Registry and proactive IP protection.
- Monitor algorithm changes and category trends to keep listings competitive on every platform.
Analytics & Insight
- Track portfolio KPIs (GMV, TACoS, contribution margin, organic rank, inventory turns, in-stock rate) and partner with Data & Insights on reporting that surfaces opportunities to scale.
- Identify growth levers, test new approaches across ads, pricing, and promotions, and document what works.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead and develop direct reports and the marketplace team (Ops/ Catalog), setting clear goals and building capability.
- Manage agencies and external partners as needed.
- Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Marketing, Growth, Performance-Led Creative, Inventory, and Supply Chain to align execution with portfolio strategy.
Who You Are:
Required
- 5-7 years of progressive experience in ecommerce, marketplace, or retail operations, including at least 3 years managing Amazon for a multi-SKU brand.
- Experience in a fast-moving, multi-SKU environment (retail, beauty, or consumer products) with frequent launches, promotions, and inventory decisions.
- Hands-on fluency in 1P/3P strategy, FBA/FBM/AWD, retail media (Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, Sponsored Display, DSP), and catalog and compliance management.
- Working knowledge of P&L drivers (GMV, margin, TACoS, inventory turns) and the ability to analyze them and act on the results.
- Experience supporting or launching a new marketplace or channel, or clear appetite to do so (Faire, international marketplaces, etc.).
- Track record developing and leading managers or specialists across ops, media, and catalog.
- Comfortable working as a close partner to a Senior Director, owning execution independently while keeping work aligned to portfolio strategy.
Preferred
- Amazon experience (strongly preferred), ideally hands-on across Seller Central, Advertising Console, and Brand Registry at a high-growth DTC or consumer brand.
- Retail or beauty background, or experience in another high-velocity, multi-SKU category.
- Experience with wholesale or B2B marketplaces such as Faire.
