About the Role
The ICT Skills Assessor - Cybersecurity evaluates ICT qualifications, skills and professional experience against ACS frameworks and relevant government requirements in Cybersecurity. The role maintains complete case records, escalates integrity and non-conformance concerns, and applies specialist cybersecurity insight to strengthen assessment quality, applicant understanding and confidence in ACS. The role plays an important part of how ACS shapes the digital future of Australia.
As an ACS Skills Assessor – Cybersecurity you will be accountable for accurate, timely and defensible decisions. Apply standards fairly, document decisions clearly and escalate concerns early. Sharing knowledge, welcoming challenges and using feedback to strengthen consistent practice is at the core of how this role Aims High. You will also apply evidence and specialist insight to improve assessment quality and applicant understanding, identify the appropriate membership level and connect candidates with Member Services, relevant microcredentials and professional pathways for the continued growth of the professionalism of the technology industry.
This role is a maximum 2 year contract.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess ICT qualifications, skills and professional experience against ACS frameworks and relevant government requirements.
- Make fair, consistent and evidence-based migration skills assessment decisions using professional judgement.
- Manage allocated caseloads within agreed quality, service and productivity standards.
- Maintain accurate, complete and audit-ready assessment records and decision rationales.
- Apply current Cybersecurity and broader ICT expertise to support credible and contemporary assessment outcomes.
- Identify, document and escalate integrity, fraud, compliance or non-conformance concerns as required.
- Contribute to quality assurance, calibration, peer review and continuous improvement activities.
- Support a clear applicant experience by providing well-documented outcomes and appropriate referral pathways.
About You
You are an analytical and collaborative ICT professional who works effectively across teams and with stakeholders to deliver high-quality assessments. You bring curiosity and initiative to problem-solving, identifying practical improvements and using feedback to strengthen assessment quality, consistency and the applicant experience. You thrive in complex environments, apply sound professional judgement and understand that how you work with colleagues and applicants is as important as your technical expertise.
What You Bring
- 2-3 years’ experience ideally in ICT, cybersecurity or education services.
- Experience evaluating qualifications, employment evidence, technical duties or professional experience against defined standards or criteria.
- Proven Experience applying professional judgement to make clear, consistent and evidence-based decisions.
- Experience managing case-based work within agreed quality, service and productivity requirements.

- Strong stakeholder management capabilities, with the ability to contribute to high-performing teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on improving assessment frameworks and outcomes.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, drive operational excellence, and maintain standards in a complex environment.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and assessor management tools.
- Discretion, sound judgment, and the ability to handle sensitive matters diplomatically.
- Collaborative mindset, fostering innovation and continuous improvement.
