Senior Manager, Critical Minerals – Argus Analytics

Argus Media · Houston, United States · hybrid

About the role

This is a senior role within Argus Analytics that will lead the next era of our critical minerals research. This role combines ownership of an established subscription portfolio with the opportunity to shape its research agenda, develop an international analyst team, and build new analytical products. You will bring rigorous market insight to senior industry decision makers, while working with commercial colleagues to deepen client relationships and grow the business.

Argus Analytics forms one half of the advisory division of Argus Media Group. Comprising a global team of 90 analysts, we provide clients with analysis, data and forecasts across 35 commodities and markets spanning oil & gas, petrochemicals, fertilizers, power, metals, agriculture markets and energy transition solutions. Our work is firmly focused on market fundamentals — considering end-to-end value chains, international trade flows, and macroeconomic trends. Our value proposition centers around the quality of our analysts, the depth of our data and our ability to leverage Argus’ wider strengths — 56 years of commodity markets expertise, unrivalled global networks and proprietary databases.

Argus Analytics’ Critical Minerals Services are one of the most successful parts of our rapidly growing business. To drive future growth, we are now looking for an experienced, passionate and future-focused Senior Manager, Critical Minerals to lead our portfolio of subscription services (encapsulating Rare Earths, Critical Minerals and Tungsten). Reporting to the Global Head of Metals, the successful candidate will have an ambitious and high-profile mandate to materially grow our existing client base and continue to build our brand and commercial presence in all the markets we cover.

At its core, this role will drive the delivery of distinctive and evidence-led research that challenges conventional thinking, build enduring relationships with the industry and create the next generation of content and data in ways that position Argus as the first voice clients turn to when seeking to understand the highly complex critical mineral supply chains. To achieve this, the successful candidate will bring the credibility, energy, vision and judgement to lead a global team of analysts, develop compelling content for C-suite clients, and help shape the next generation of Argus Analytics offerings.

What you will be doing

- Build and execute a strategy that cements Argus as the market leader in critical minerals analysis;

- Initiate and guide research into the drivers and issues impacting the long-term business environment for companies involved in all aspects of the critical minerals ecosystem;

- Act as one of Argus’ most senior external voices on critical minerals market developments, including through executive briefings, conferences, webinars, flagship research and client engagement;

- Continuously develop the content, delivery formats and analytical methodologies that underpin the team’s subscription services;

- Build, coach and develop a high-performing international team of analysts, ensuring analytical rigor, methodological consistency and strong market-facing communication;

- Support Argus’s commercial organization through high-impact client demonstrations and insight-led commercial discussions.

What we're looking for

- Market authority gained through demonstrable sector expertise, research leadership and client credibility in market intelligence, consulting, or relevant industry roles;

- Line management and strategic leadership of international teams of subject matter experts;

- Capable of representing Argus with the most senior levels of industry, both delivering confident and clear narratives in person and writing compelling and insightful analysis;

- Intellectually curious at a global scale – with a demonstrable passion for the commodities that Argus analyses and critical mineral markets in particular;

- Demonstrable commercial acumen – success designing and delivering scalable subscription services will be valued;

- Highly numerate with experience analyzing comprehensive datasets quickly and meticulously;

- Flexible in approach, highly motivated and willing to contribute to the growth of Argus Analytics’ services.
