It all begins with a clean plate and that starts with YOU! Are you ready to roll up your sleeves? We’re looking for a Kitchen Steward who values the details, who’s passionate about cleanliness and efficiency as they are about food.
This is a part time position.
Your day to day
- Cleaning and sterilising countertops, walls, stoves, ovens, grills, sinks and cooking equipment
- Maintaining food storage areas like freezers and refrigerators
- Receiving and organising deliveries to the kitchen
- Supporting the chefs and other colleagues in basic food preparation, cutting, peeling, and washing
- Removing kitchen waste and washing dirty dishes
What we need from you
- Hospitality kitchen experience is desirable but not essential
- It’s a physical role and you’ll be on your feet most of the day, so attention to safe manual handling is a must; including occasional lifting/push/pull of heavy items and you may need to bend and kneel to complete some activities
- High standard of cleanliness and safety at work
- Good reading, writing and basic maths
- Must hold a Food Safety Certificate
- The flexibility to work across a rotating roster including mornings, afternoons, weekends and public holidays
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships and provide outstanding service
- Display a commitment to our guests by consistently maintaining a high level of quality at all times
