Base Salary $79,600 plus Super plus Group Wide Discounts
We’re on the hunt for a Function Managing Guru for The Ship Inn where functions and events bring our community together creating experiences everyone loves
A day in the life of a Function Manager:
- Lead end to end delivery of events, from planning and client consulting in a friendly manner, to execution and any post event follow ups
- Manage and coordinate a very diverse events calendar - weddings, corporates, shows, entertainment and private functions and individually manage each individual clients needs when building such events
- Manage payments, contract and event details
- Leading and developing functions team. Communicating the timeline running of the event in line with venue expectation. Being able to delegate roles amongst the team to help even work load with encouraging guidance
- Build and maintain strong client relations. Ensure an appropriate response time to all clients in met.
- Identify opportunities for growth in the business. Reaching out to existing clients, contributing to sale strategies and package offering, menu and upgrades
- Be a key part of the leadership crew, working closely with the Publican and Assistant Managers
- Share your passion, skills, and creativity to grow a high-performing function and events team
- Deliver exception functions and events with good vibes, great service and all those little extras going above and beyond
Inherent requirements:
- This is a hands-on role. Physical requirements include setup of function spaces, table/decor staging, and movement of event equipment and supplies. Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.
About you:
- Relevant qualification (Diploma in Event Management, Hospitality, or Business) or minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience in event/function management
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Passion in presentation and delivering outstanding events
- Ability and confidence to manage multiple events and priorities
- Friendly, sociable and approachable manner
- Solution focused and independent thinking
