Position Description

The Senior Director or Director, EHS & Training position, reporting to the Vice President, Operations & Maintenance, provides enterprise leadership for environmental, health, and safety across the Origis Services operating fleet and leads the Services training function. The primary focus of this role is EHS: protecting employees and contractors, maintaining regulatory and contractual compliance, strengthening field execution, and continuously improving the safety culture. The role also owns the training strategy and department responsibilities needed to build technical capability, operating consistency, and clear career development pathways for the Services organization.

This leader will work closely with field leadership, technicians, operations support teams, customers, subcontractors, Human Resources, Legal, Risk, and other Origis functions. The successful candidate will be visible in the field, comfortable operating at both executive and site level, and capable of turning policy into practical standards that teams can execute consistently.

The position of Senior Director or Director, EHS & Training is a regular, full-time position and is eligible for the company employee benefits package.

Key Responsibilities

EHS Leadership and Governance:

- Own, maintain, and continuously improve the Origis Services EHS management system for utility-scale solar and energy storage operations and maintenance.

- Maintain and establish new EHS policies, procedures, minimum standards, and accountability across the operating fleet.

- Advise Services leadership on material EHS risks, regulatory requirements, emerging issues, and the resources required to manage them.

- Build and lead a strong field-centered safety culture that emphasizes hazard recognition, stop-work authority, learning, and personal accountability.

- Serve as the senior EHS point of contact for significant incidents, customer concerns, regulatory matters, and other high-risk field issues.

- Lead and develop EHS personnel and establish effective coverage, roles, goals, and performance expectations for the function.

Field Safety and Operational Risk:

- Provide EHS oversight for routine and non-routine O&M work, including electrical work, lockout/tagout, energized work, switching, troubleshooting, vegetation management, heavy equipment, lifting and rigging, work at height, confined spaces, hot work, battery energy storage systems, and contractor-performed activities.

- Ensure site-specific safety plans, emergency action plans, job hazard analyses, permits, procedures, and required records are established, current, and used effectively.

- Develop and execute a risk-based audit and field-inspection program; document findings, assign corrective actions, verify closure, and identify recurring or systemic issues.

- Lead or oversee investigations of incidents, injuries, near misses, environmental events, and high-potential exposures; ensure root causes and corrective actions are documented and communicated.

- Establish contractor and vendor EHS prequalification, onboarding, monitoring, and performance-management requirements.

- Support new-site mobilization and operational readiness so EHS programs, documentation, training, equipment, and emergency arrangements are in place before turnover or service commencement.

Environmental and Regulatory Compliance:

- Maintain programs aligned with applicable federal, state, and local requirements, including OSHA and environmental obligations relevant to O&M activities.

- Oversee hazardous and universal waste, spill prevention and response, chemical management, environmental reporting, and required site records.

- Coordinate regulatory inquiries, inspections, reporting, and corrective actions in partnership with Legal and other appropriate stakeholders.

- Monitor regulatory and industry developments and translate changes into practical requirements, training, and field controls.

Training Department Leadership:

- Own the Services training strategy, governance, budget, standards, and annual plan, while keeping EHS and regulatory training as the first priority.

- Lead and continuously improve a role-based training program for technicians, site leadership, and operations support personnel.

- Maintain a training matrix by role and ensure required qualifications, certifications, refreshers, and milestones are assigned, tracked, completed, and auditable.

- Partner with Field Operations and subject matter experts to identify knowledge gaps and develop practical curriculum for safety, technical equipment, procedures, CMMS use, troubleshooting, and operating consistency.

- Continue developing technician career progression and qualification pathways that support advancement into senior technical and leadership roles.

- Use field observation, audit results, incident trends, equipment performance, and operational feedback to prioritize new or revised training.

- Evaluate and integrate appropriate training methods and technologies, including instructor-led, field-based, virtual, and learning-management-system delivery.

- Measure training effectiveness through demonstrated proficiency and field performance, not course completion alone.

Performance, Reporting, and Collaboration:

- Develop and report meaningful leading and lagging EHS metrics, training compliance, audit performance, corrective-action status, and trend analysis to Services leadership.

- Prepare clear executive, customer, and operational reports that identify performance, material risks, root causes, and recommended actions.

- Manage the EHS and Training budgets, external providers, systems, and resources with
