POSITION: Accounting Manager
DEPARTMENT: Finance
STATUS: Full Time
LICENSE: Level II
REPORTS TO: General Manager
MANAGES: Senior Accountant, Revenue Audit Manager
Job Summary: Primary responsibilities include utilizing specialized accounting education to provide timely and accurate financial reporting and maintenance of the general ledger, fixed asset system, and various other systems that interact with the general ledger and management of related personnel.
Essential Job Functions:
- Responsible for overall daily management of accounts payable, general ledger, and payroll
- Responsible for management of staff involved in accounts payable, general ledger and payroll functions including responsibility for selecting, managing and directing the work of direct reports, including managing hiring, terminations, advancements, promotion, discipline and all other direct report personnel matters
- Responsible for assisting in the budget process for the Finance department and provides recommendations; ensures compliance to departmental budget initiatives
- Prepares monthly financial statement for all company operations and/or entities
- Directs determination of depreciation rates to apply to capital assets
- Advises management on desirable operational adjustments due to tax code revisions
- Examines accounts and records and computes taxes owed according to prescribed rates, laws, and regulations
- Completes form for tax refunds; ensures that the property complies with tax payment, information reporting, and other taxing authority requirements
- Collects and analyzes records of present and past operations, trends and costs, estimated and realized revenues, administrative commitments, and obligations incurred to project future revenues and expenses
- Maintains Financial Accounting, Accounts Payable, Fixed Asset, and Payroll which provide control of revenues and expenditures
- Advises management on matters such as effective use of resources and assumptions underlying budget forecasts

- Observes activity and reports anything that is out of the ordinary
- Maintains paperwork accuracy and efficiency within department/property standards
- Adheres to regulatory, departmental, and company policies in an ethical manner and encourages others to do the same
Experience and Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older and have the ability to obtain and retain a Level II KRGC Gaming License.
- Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in accounting from an accredited four-year college or university; or four to ten years of related experience; or combination of education and experience. CPA licensed preferred, but not required
- Must be proficient in all Microsoft Office applications and have knowledge of financial software systems, NetSuite a plus.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Display professionalism; excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Professional appearance as outlined in the Gilley’s Team Member Handbook
- Must be able to work both independently and as a member of a team
- Available to work required schedule which may include nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
