• Lead and support incident and near-miss investigations, root cause analysis, corrective-action development, and effectiveness verification.

• Strengthen site HSE management systems, training, risk assessments, compliance documentation, and accountability for timely closure of identified gaps.

• Coach and support site HSE personnel and establish consistent HSE expectations and practices across North America.

• Improve CMMS discipline, PM completion, maintenance planning and scheduling, asset criticality, equipment history, backlog management, and reliability performance.

• Develop a regional critical-spares strategy based on equipment criticality, lead time, downtime exposure, and financial return to improve parts availability and reduce extended outages.

• Assess maintenance staffing and technical capability across sites, identify specialty skills, improve deployment of internal resources between locations, and determine appropriate insource versus contracted maintenance support.

• Partner with sites to reduce recurring equipment failures and unplanned downtime through root cause analysis and sustainable corrective actions, supporting improved equipment availability, uptime, and OEE.

• Develop and optimize regional OEM, TPM, and maintenance service agreements to improve consistency, service levels, response time, and cost while reducing unnecessary site-by-site contracting.

• Support critical facility infrastructure reliability and provide Barnes oversight of service providers, including performance expectations, contractor safety, escalation, and accountability.

• Establish and monitor meaningful HSE, maintenance, reliability, and facilities KPIs and communicate performance, risks, and priorities to leadership.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience supporting multiple manufacturing locations and working effectively with site General Managers, Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, HR, and frontline leadership.

• Strong working knowledge of OSHA requirements and manufacturing safety programs, including machine guarding, lockout/tagout, electrical safety, industrial hygiene, ergonomics, working from heights, contractor safety, incident investigation, and corrective-action management.

• Working knowledge of EPA and state environmental compliance requirements applicable to manufacturing operations, including hazardous waste, air, water, chemical management, spill prevention, and regulatory reporting.

• Demonstrated ability to assess operational risk, identify compliance gaps, establish priorities, and drive corrective actions through sustainable closure.

• Experience supporting or improving industrial maintenance and reliability programs, including preventive/predictive maintenance, TPM, CMMS, maintenance planning and scheduling, equipment criticality, downtime analysis, and root cause failure analysis.

• Ability to develop and support broader maintenance strategies involving critical spare parts, maintenance staffing and technical capability, OEM/service agreements, and regional vendor optimization.

• Strong understanding of the relationship between maintenance performance, equipment availability, unplanned downtime, uptime, and OEE.

• Ability to independently manage multiple sites and priorities, influence leaders without direct authority, and appropriately escalate significant HSE, compliance, maintenance, or operational risks.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to operate effectively on the manufacturing floor and communicate with senior leadership.

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Industrial Technology, Operations, or a related discipline preferred.
