Senior Manager, Business Audit

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Audit Risk Assessment, Planning & Execution:
- Provide independent assurance over banking-related activities.
- Support the Head of Audit in preparing the audit plan for KFH Bahrain based upon a standard risk assessment of the business, operations activities across the bank
- Lead the Execution and delivery of the annual banking audit plan for Bahrain based on risk assessment, regulatory requirements, and emerging risks.
- Oversee end‑to‑end audit engagements, including scoping, fieldwork, issue identification, and reporting.
- Ensure timely execution of audits in accordance with IIA Standards, Group IA methodology, and regulatory requirements.
Issue Management & Risk Insights:
- Identify key control weaknesses and thematic risks, ensuring findings are well‑supported and clearly articulated.
- Engage with business leaders to ensure meaningful and actionable remediation plans are established.
- Track progress on issue resolution and escalate delays or high‑risk exposures to the Bahrain Head of Audit.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with business leaders and control functions while maintaining audit independence.
- Support the Bahrain Head of Audit with management updates and risk intelligence
People Leadership & Capability Building:
- Manage, coach, and develop the banking audit team, ensuring strong technical capability and consistent application of audit standards.
- Support skills development in areas such as data analytics, risk assessment techniques, and sector-specific risk understanding.
- Foster a culture of high performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Alignment with Group Internal Audit:
- Ensure full compliance with Group IA policies, methodology, reporting templates, and quality assurance expectations.
- Coordinate with Group-level banking audit teams on cross‑border reviews, thematic assessments, and shared risk insights.
- Coordinate closely with the Bahrain Head of Audit to ensure consistent reporting, effective risk coverage, and alignment with Group Internal Audit expectations.
Continuous Improvement & Emerging Risks:
- Enhance audit methodology through data-driven audit techniques, continuous monitoring, and quality improvements
- Stay informed of developments in banking regulations, risk trends, emerging technologies, and industry best practices.
- Proactively identify gaps in control environments and propose improvements to the audit approach.
- Integrate data analytics and continuous monitoring tools into audit processes where applicable.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Academic Qualifications (Minimum Requirement):
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Banking, or related fields.
Professional Certifications (Minimum Requirement / Preferred):
- CIA, CISA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent.
- Additional certifications in risk management, credit, or banking operations are an advantage.
Minimum Experience:
- Minimum 10–12 years of Internal Audit, Risk, or Banking experience, with substantial exposure to finance, corporate/retail banking, and operational controls.
- Proven experience leading audits and managing audit teams.
- Strong understanding of regulatory expectations and risk management frameworks in the banking sector.
