Software Quality Engineering Manager

Join Aptiv as a Software Quality Engineering Manager and lead a team responsible for ensuring quality across the software development lifecycle.
You will combine people leadership with software quality expertise, overseeing project execution, resource planning and compliance with automotive quality standards. Working closely with engineering teams, customers and key stakeholders, you will drive a Built-In Quality mindset, strengthen team capabilities and enable continuous improvement across our software organization.
Your Role:
- Lead and develop the Software Quality Engineering team, including resource planning, workload management, performance and career development.
- Plan and oversee software quality activities, project deliverables and schedules across assigned programs.
- Ensure software releases meet Aptiv quality standards, customer requirements and relevant automotive quality processes.
- Drive a Built-In Quality mindset throughout the software development lifecycle and promote continuous improvement.
- Monitor project performance, risks, defects and quality metrics, driving corrective actions and escalating critical issues when required.
- Oversee ASPICE activities, assessment planning and SUP.1 process improvement initiatives.
- Build team capabilities through training, knowledge sharing, competency development and talent retention.
- Collaborate with engineering teams, customers and other stakeholders to resolve quality issues and support successful project execution.
Your Background:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, combined with experience in the automotive industry.
- Strong background in software and systems development, electronic product design and automotive quality.
- In-depth knowledge of ASPICE, IATF 16949, ISO 26262 and Automotive Quality Systems.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, including team development, resource planning and managing priorities in a changing project environment.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to challenge technical analyses and drive improvement actions.
- Excellent English communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience working directly with customers and presenting solutions or improvement plans.
