Internship Data & AI / AI-Powered Internal Business Assistant

Avanade · Brussels, Belgium

An introduction:

Our vision? “To advance the world through the power of people and Microsoft.” Every day, our people use the latest Microsoft technologies to help organizations transform, innovate, and create new possibilities. Within our Data & AI practice, we explore how AI and and modern data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric can improve both the solutions we deliver to our clients and the way we work internally. During this two-month internship, you will apply these technologies to a real internal challenge and explore how repetitive and knowledge-intensive administrative processes can become smarter, faster, and more efficient.

Come join us:

Avanade is an international IT consultancy where people and technology come together. As an intern, you will become part of our Data & AI practice and work alongside consultants and technical specialists on a real AI and automation challenge. You will have the opportunity to experiment with emerging Microsoft technologies, learn from experienced professionals, and turn your ideas into a tangible working prototype.

You will also become part of Avanade's broader intern community, where collaboration, knowledge sharing, learning, and personal development are key. During your internship, you will experience how Data & AI solutions evolve from an initial business challenge into a designed, developed, tested, and demonstrated solution.

What you’ll do:

Our consultants work with a variety of internal administrative and knowledge-intensive processes. These activities can involve collecting information from different sources, analyzing documents, searching for existing knowledge, completing templates, asking stakeholders for missing information, and transforming unstructured input into structured deliverables.

During this two-month internship, your challenge will be to explore:

How can AI & modern data platforms make internal administrative processes faster, smarter, and more consistent?

You will design and develop an AI-Powered Internal Business Assistant, focusing on at least one concrete internal use case. Instead of simply answering questions like a traditional chatbot, the assistant should help users complete an actual business process. This could include understanding what the user wants to achieve, gathering the required information, asking relevant questions, retrieving appropriate knowledge or templates, identifying missing information, and generating a structured result ready for human review.

Examples of potential use cases include:

- SOW Creation: Guide consultants in creating consistent Statements of Work using the appropriate delivery model and template.

- RFP Analysis: Analyze RFPs and structure key requirements, deliverables, risks, dependencies, and clarification points.

- Proposal & Opportunity Support: Transform opportunity information into structured input for proposals and solutioning activities.

- Other Internal Admin Processes: Automate repetitive internal activities where Data, AI, and automation can reduce manual effort.

- Together with the Data & AI practice, you will select and scope a suitable use case that can be developed into an end-to-end MVP within the two-month internship.

- Depending on your solution design, you may explore technologies such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search, Microsoft 365,Python, Git, and Azure DevOps.

- At the end of the internship, you will demonstrate your working prototype, share your findings, and provide recommendations on how the solution could potentially be extended to other internal processes.
