Forbes Media is seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Associate Video Producer/Editor to join our fast-paced video team. Operating as a fully self-sufficient creator both in-studio and on location, you will own the entire lifecycle of assigned projects—from story development, logistics, and scripting to post-production, publication and distribution. You will collaborate closely with cross-departmental stakeholders to deliver premium, narrative-driven videos and podcasts. The ideal candidate possesses strong editorial judgement, pairing exceptional interpersonal skills for managing VIP talent and PR teams with the technical agility to edit in Adobe Premiere Pro. Beyond production, you will act as a strategic publisher, optimizing platform-specific metadata and thumbnails for YouTube and Forbes.com, analyzing audience retention metrics, and maintaining comprehensive video archives to maximize content repurposing.
Required to work in the Forbes office (Jersey City), at offsite Forbes events, or in studio five days per week, with travel to events and shoots as needed.
Job responsibilities
- Conduct production on assigned projects from pre-to-post production including story development, interview questions, call sheets, logistics & booking, scripting, edit reviews, publication & distribution as directed by Managing Producer.
- Assist in recording video content in studio, at live events, or as assigned.
- Collaborate with directors on creative direction and oversee the vision throughout the production process
- Edit compelling, narrative-driven videos using Adobe Premiere Pro, keeping Forbes brand identity and best practices in mind
- Create video clips that narratively stand on their own, optimized for platform-specific distribution, using strong editorial judgment and deep knowledge of Forbes' content to ensure brand alignment
- Collaborate closely with all project stakeholders (including but not limited to video producers, sales leads, social strategists) to deliver on sponsored campaigns within a 24-hour turnaround
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive video archive that allows for fast repurposing of content for editorial, social, and sponsored use
- Publish assigned content across Forbes YouTube channels, Forbes.com and additional third-party distribution platforms. Responsibilities include writing performance-optimized titles, descriptions, tags and creating thumbnails and playlists
- Regularly monitor analytics across platforms to provide actionable insights on audience retention and growth
- Work across Forbes podcasts including end-to-end production as needed
- Collaborate with the social strategy team to deliver assets for social-first projects
- Collaborate with Forbes staff across departments including social, design, photo, SEO, the newsroom and more to facilitate and optimize video reporting opportunities
- Demonstrate impeccable editorial judgement, ensuring alignment with Forbes’ editorial standards and voice.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills for working with high-level executives, PR teams and external talent
- Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere Pro)
- Comfortable in a hybrid work environment and willing to put in extra hours during major news cycles or flagship summits

The annual base salary range for this role is $68,500.00
