We are on the lookout for a detail-oriented and financially savvy Reservations Manager to join our team. The Reservations Manager is the central hub of our two hotels — a vital connector who brings teams together and keeps operations flowing seamlessly. Working closely with the Director of Sales and Marketing and Rooms Division Manager, this role drives revenue in line with the Sales & Marketing Plan while ensuring guest satisfaction stays front and centre.
As our Reservations Manager, this role will effectively manage the Reservations function of the hotels to ensure positive delivery of Guest Experience, maintain inventory balance and rate parity across channels. This role will support the hotel in managing revenue systems and effectively develop the capability of the Reservations team.
A little taste of your day-to-day
- Support, train and develop Reservations Agents to ensure they are meeting standards and providing a high level of service to guests
- Assist in managing hotel revenue generation and maximisation through full utilisation of company systems, business processes and specifications. Participate in revenue meetings including RevGen, pricing meetings and daily briefings.
- Complete records and reports on room availability and guest room commitments; forecast weekly occupancy and rate in conjunction with IHG Revenue.
- Book guest reservations for individuals and/or groups that are requested either by phone or from within the hotel in accordance with established standards and scripts using the hotel’s reservations system; process reservations from the sales, reservations centres or travel agencies/wholesalers. Designate and apply appropriate travel agency commissions.
- Monitor group reservation activity daily and communicate status with sales department. Follow up on tentative sales bookings with respective sales staff to update status. Communicate fluctuations in room occupancy to operations so that appropriate staffing adjustments and efficiencies are maintained.
What we need from you
- Bachelor’s degree / higher education qualification / equivalent in Hotel Management or Business Administration
- At least two years of experience in Hotel Reservations, including leadership experience.
- Comprehensive understanding of hotel systems and revenue management principles.
- The ability to manage time efficiently with competing deadlines.
- The ability to liaise professionally in all aspects of the role, including excellent telephone and email etiquette.
- Strategic and tactical thinking – the ability to develop strategic plans, establish goals and objectives, set performance targets, and deliver projects on time.
