We are seeking an experienced and highly networked professional to join us as Corporate Relations Manager – Data Science & AI / Technology Placements.
About the Role
This is a relationship-driven role focused on developing corporate partnerships and securing internship, industry project and graduate employment opportunities for our Data Science and AI students.
We are particularly interested in candidates who have worked as Technology Recruiters within the Australian technology industry, preferably in Sydney, and who bring an established network of Hiring Managers, Talent Acquisition professionals, HR leaders and senior stakeholders within technology companies.
The primary focus will be creating placement opportunities for our Bachelor of Data Science (BDS) and Master of AI in Business (MAIB) students across Australia.
The role will also support relationships with international academic and industry collaborators across the US, UK, Europe and Asia, where students may undertake research internships and other industry opportunities.
This is an individual contributor role requiring someone who can independently develop corporate relationships, open new opportunities and convert industry connections into meaningful student placements.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of internship, graduate and placement opportunities across Data Science, AI, Analytics, IT and Technology sectors.
- Proactively identify and approach technology companies across Sydney and the wider Australian market.
- Leverage and expand relationships with C-suite executives, Hiring Managers, Recruitment Managers, Talent Acquisition teams, HR leaders and technology professionals.
- Develop long-term corporate partnerships that generate recurring internship and graduate opportunities.
- Engage with technology companies, recruitment agencies, startups, scale-ups and other relevant industry organisations.
- Coordinate placement drives, employer engagement activities, interviews and internship opportunities.
- Match suitable students with available roles based on skills, experience and employer requirements.
- Support students with CV preparation, interview readiness, professional communication and workplace expectations.
- Represent the School at career fairs, networking events, industry forums and corporate engagement activities.
- Maintain engagement with international academic and industry collaborators for research internships and related opportunities.
- Track employer engagement, placement opportunities and student outcomes and prepare regular management reports.
- Work closely with academic teams, students and internal stakeholders to improve student employability and placement outcomes.
Essential Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a Technology Recruiter, Talent Acquisition professional, Corporate Relations/Placement professional or similar role within Australia.
- Strong preference for candidates who have recruited for technology, data, analytics, AI, software, IT or related roles in Sydney.
- An established professional network within the Australian technology sector.
- Strong existing relationships with Hiring Managers, Recruitment Managers, HR/Talent Acquisition professionals and senior technology stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to independently source, develop and convert corporate relationships into recruitment or placement opportunities.
- Previous experience in a technology company, recruitment consultancy, HR consultancy, educational institution or corporate talent acquisition environment.
- Strong understanding of technology recruitment and the Australian employment market.
- Excellent communication, networking, negotiation and relationship-management skills.
- Ability to confidently engage with senior corporate stakeholders as well as students and academic teams.
- Strong computer literacy, reporting and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage targets and proactively develop new industry relationships.
Highly Desirable
- Previous experience recruiting Data Science, AI, Analytics, Software, Technology or IT professionals.
- Existing relationships with graduate recruitment programs and technology employers in Sydney.
- Experience in corporate sales, business development, recruitment or student placements.
- Familiarity with the Australian higher education sector and graduate employability.
- Experience using CRM, recruitment or applicant-tracking systems.

The successful candidate will significantly expand our network of technology employers, establish new corporate partnerships and create a consistent pipeline of internship and graduate opportunities for our Data Science and AI students.
This role would suit an experienced Technology Recruiter or Talent Acquisition professional who enjoys networking and corporate relationship development and is interested in using their industry connections to help develop the next generation of technology and AI professionals.
