Project Manager – Solar PV & Energy Storage
diamondfoundry · Trujillo, Spain · onsite
Diamond Foundry Inc. is solving the thermal limitation at the foundation of today's most exciting tech industries -- AI & cloud compute, electric-car power electronics, and 5G/6G wireless. We have managed to produce the world's first single-crystal diamond wafers and are now on a mission to put a diamond behind every chip. We are the rare unicorn that has grown fast and profitably. We received $515m in funding and are executing a multi-$B expansion plan for one of the greenest forms of tech manufacturing: converting greenhouse gas into diamond wafers using zero-emission energy.
As we continue expanding our manufacturing operations in Trujillo, we are investing in large-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage (BESS) infrastructure to support our growing energy demand and reduce electricity costs.
We are looking for a hands-on Project Manager to drive the development, permitting, and on-site execution of these strategic energy projects.
This role will be instrumental in accelerating regulatory approvals, coordinating external engineering partners and local authorities, and ensuring that project execution progresses efficiently, safely, and according to plan. We are looking for someone who combines renewable energy project development experience with strong technical judgment, ownership, and a practical, solutions-oriented approach.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and accelerate the permitting and regulatory approval processes for solar PV and energy infrastructure projects, coordinating with local and regional authorities, grid operators, and external engineering partners.
- Manage relationships with engineering, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders, ensuring timely submissions, effective follow-up, and resolution of project bottlenecks.
- Coordinate the on-site implementation of battery energy storage and solar infrastructure projects, overseeing contractors, materials, site preparation, and installation activities.
- Monitor project schedules, milestones, and execution quality, proactively identifying risks, resolving issues, and ensuring that work is delivered according to technical specifications.
- Act as the primary on-site project representative in Trujillo, working closely with internal engineering, facilities, and manufacturing teams, as well as international stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Degree in Electrical, Industrial, Energy, Civil Engineering, or a related technical discipline, with at least 5 years of experience in renewable energy project development, project management, or execution.
- Proven experience managing solar PV projects in Spain, including permitting processes, regulatory approvals, and coordination with public authorities and external engineering partners.
- Strong technical understanding of electrical infrastructure, preferably including high-voltage systems, with the ability to oversee contractors and identify execution or installation issues.
- Demonstrated hands-on project management experience, with strong ownership, organizational skills, and the ability to drive multiple activities and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluent Spanish and English, with the ability to communicate effectively across local and international teams, and availability to work regularly on-site in Trujillo.
