We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Porter to join our catering team in Galway, Ireland. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated individual to become an integral part of a busy kitchen operation, where you will help maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene whilst supporting our kitchen team in delivering exceptional food service. You will work in a collaborative, supportive environment where your contributions are valued and your development is encouraged. - Wash dishes, crockery, cutlery, utensils, and kitchen equipment safely and efficiently using appropriate dishwashing equipment - Maintain cleanliness and organisation throughout the kitchen and back-of-house areas to the highest standards
- Assist with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with company policy and environmental best practice - Support the kitchen team with basic food preparation tasks when required - Receive and store deliveries safely and correctly, ensuring proper inventory management and stock rotation - Complete cleaning schedules to a high standard and ensure all areas are ready for service
- Follow food safety, COSHH, health and safety, and company procedures at all times - Help keep the kitchen organised, safe, and efficient throughout each service - Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations - Demonstrate flexibility and resilience in a fast-paced working environment - Maintain personal hygiene and wear appropriate protective equipment as required
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic - Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate with colleagues - Reliable and punctual approach to work with good time keeping - Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness and hygiene standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, demanding environment - Manual dexterity and good coordination - Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods - Ability to lift and carry heavy items safely
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions - Understanding of waste management and recycling procedures - Basic numeracy for inventory management - Desirable: Previous experience as a kitchen porter or in a cleaning role - Desirable: Basic knowledge of food safety and health and safety procedures - Desirable: Experience working in a hospitality or catering environment
