K2 Integrity is seeking a part-time highly motivated Information Security / Digital Forensics Intern to support the firm's forensic investigations team. This position is ideal for students interested in information security, digital forensics, incident response, and investigative services. The intern will assist with recurring client service tasks and internal operational activities, allowing senior forensic professionals to focus on complex investigations, client engagements, and strategic initiatives. This role provides hands-on exposure to evidence handling, forensic processes, and information security operations in a professional services environment.
This
role is based out of the New York office.
Responsibilities- Current undergraduate student enrolled in an accredited college or university, preferably pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Digital Forensics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- Strong interest in digital forensics, cyber investigations, and information security
- Basic understanding of computer systems, data storage devices, and cybersecurity concepts
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to follow documented procedures and maintain accurate records
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Previous internship, technical coursework, or related experience is a plus
- Highly-driven, inventive and results oriented
- Previous work/internship experience preferred
Requirements- Assist with recurring client support activities, including backing up client hard drives and electronic devices
- Support evidence intake, organization, documentation, and filing in accordance with established procedures
- Maintain accurate records related to forensic evidence and chain-of-custody documentation
- Help prepare, organize, and manage case-related files and documentation
- Perform administrative and operational tasks supporting active client engagements
- Assist with data collection, inventory tracking, and quality assurance activities
- Conduct research on information security, digital forensics, and cyber-related topics as needed
- Support internal projects and other entry-level activities assigned by the Information Security and Forensics team
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion
