Ready to take on architecture challenges that go well beyond eCommerce?
This is an opportunity to shape how Bunnings connects the customer journey across digital commerce, product, pricing, promotions, orders, marketplaces, marketing and more. You’ll work on complex problems with real scale and visibility, influencing decisions that improve experiences for customers and create stronger foundations for the teams delivering them.
About the roleIf you’re at your best when the answer isn’t obvious, you’ll find plenty here to get stuck into.
As our Customer Senior Solution Architect, you’ll help shape the architecture behind an evolving customer and digital commerce ecosystem. Rather than starting with a product or platform, you’ll step back, understand the business problem and determine the architecture patterns and options that will deliver the right outcome.
You’ll have the autonomy to challenge thinking, explore alternatives and influence decisions across Technology and the broader business. That means helping stakeholders understand the trade-offs too, from speed and cost today to scalability, maintainability and technical debt tomorrow.
It’s a million ways to make an impact, with the chance to influence solutions that connect customer experiences across some of our most important capabilities.
What's involvedYou’ll have the opportunity to:
- Shape end-to-end solution architecture across a broad customer and digital commerce ecosystem.
- Turn complex business challenges into clear architectural options, patterns and high-level solution designs.
- Connect capabilities across digital commerce, product, marketplaces, pricing, promotions, orders, customer experience, marketing and retail media.
- Become a trusted advisor and influence decisions of senior business and technology stakeholders.
- Look beyond immediate delivery needs to design solutions that can scale and evolve over time.
- Partner with Enterprise and Platform Architects, engineers, delivery teams, vendors and business stakeholders to turn architecture into practical outcomes.
- Bring new ideas and perspectives while staying curious about emerging technologies and better ways to solve customer problems.
You’ll be supported to stretch your thinking and challenge assumptions, Inspiring you to give it a red hot go while working alongside people who value practical thinking, collaboration and different perspectives.
About YouYou’re an experienced Solution Architect who enjoys making sense of complexity.
You think architecture before technology. You’re curious about the problem behind the request and confident developing several ways forward rather than jumping straight to a preferred platform or product.
You can also bring people on the journey. Whether you’re working through competing priorities with delivery teams or presenting recommendations to senior leaders, you communicate clearly and explain why a particular architectural direction creates the stronger outcome.
You'll join a collaborative architecture environment where constructive challenge is encouraged and good ideas matter more than where they come from.
What you'll needWe’re looking for strong Solution Architecture capability first and foremost, including:
- Significant experience designing end-to-end solutions across complex enterprise environments.
- Broad experience across customer and digital commerce ecosystems, rather than eCommerce alone.
- Experience across several relevant domains such as PIM/Product Master, marketplaces, pricing and promotions, OMS, digital experience, CRM/customer platforms, CMS, marketing, advertising or retail media.
- Strong knowledge of integration approaches, including API-led, event-driven and asynchronous architecture patterns.
- The ability to create high-level solution designs and recommend architecture patterns and options based on business needs.
- Confidence presenting multiple options and articulating their cost, complexity, risk and long-term trade-offs.
- Strong stakeholder influencing, facilitation and communication skills, including with senior leaders and complex stakeholder groups.
- Experience within retail, digital commerce or another large, interconnected enterprise environment would be highly regarded.
Importantly, this isn’t about being an expert in one vendor or technology stack. We’re interested in the breadth of your architecture experience, how you approach difficult problems and your ability to connect business needs with smart, sustainable architecture.
