Manager Receiving and Customs

The Manager of Receiving and Customs is responsible for Custom Clearance, Material Receiving, Inspection and Quarantine. The Manager plans, direct and control all activities of Receiving and Customs to support maintenance of aircraft fleets in Etihad Airways Engineering and ensure that all related material transactions are processed without any delays and in accordance with company procedures and statutory regulatory requirements of EASA/GCAA/FAA/DGCA.

- Coordinate with all freight forwarders for the timely and accurate clearance of inbound shipments.

- Resolving customs issues and relevant authorities for clearance of shipments for Etihad and 3rd Party customers.

- Dealing with Abu Dhabi Customs, Police, CID, Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (TRA), Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR), ERWADA, etc. on all matters related to speedy clearance of shipments

- Perform the incoming review to identify, control, segregate, and maintain all materials (including raw materials and parts) according to the manufacturer requirements or standard industry practices.

- Ensure documents associated with the received articles are properly reflecting the work performed by outside sources or by Etihad Airways Engineering and incorporated in articles undergoing maintenance, preventive maintenance or alteration and report on discrepancies found.

- Execute specified shelf-life requirements.

- Ensure preservation and storage of all materials, parts and supplies in a condition enabling them to be installed or used on civil aviation articles.

- Ensure that non-conforming articles are properly quarantined and parts that have been designated as scrap are appropriately dispositioned.

- Ensure dangerous goods are properly handled as per applicable rules and regulation.

- Coordinate with Supply Chain, Material Planning, Operations and Etihad Airways to prioritize material movements and respond effectively to AOG and other critical operational requirements.

- Allocate shifts, personnel, equipment, and other resources to meet workload and service-level requirements, prevent backlogs, and maintain operational continuity.

- Lead staff performance, productivity, training, development, and required approvals to build capability and achieve departmental targets. Continuously improve the function’s performance.

- Establish, maintain, and improve processes, SOPs, performance standards, layouts, space utilization, and material-handling methods.

- Ensure material-handling activities and equipment comply with SC EYENG TPM requirements and are properly maintained.

- Monitor service levels and operational performance, ensure accurate reporting, and implement corrective and continuous-improvement actions.

- Oversee ERP systems, including AMOS and Oracle, ensuring accurate data entry, transaction control, and reporting.

- Support internal and external audits, ensuring timely responses and satisfactory closure in line with Supply Chain targets.

- Maintain 5S, housekeeping, safe-storage, and company safety standards across all assigned working areas, equipment, vehicles, and office space.

- Perform other duties as assigned by management.

- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.

- Professional certifications are advantageous.

- High proficiency in English/Business correspondence required.

- Minimum 5–8 years of progressive experience in logistics or supply chain management, ideally in an MRO or aerospace/technical environment.
