Our consulting service lines span strategy, market development and innovation advisory. We are looking for motivated, experienced professionals to support on and lead typical consultant including tasks program and project management. The role includes interaction with clients, partners and program stakeholders with exposure to senior decision-makers in the space and defense ecosystem, both in industry, government and military . Your role:
- As a Manager in the Defense practice, you will play a key role in developing our Defense consulting activities in Germany while leading high-impact advisory projects for clients across the defense and security sector.
- You will combine strategic thinking, strong defense sector knowledge and consulting expertise to help clients address complex business, operational and transformation challenges.
- Working closely with our international teams, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality consulting assignments, strengthening client relationships and identifying new business opportunities within the German and European defense ecosystem.
Your Responsabilities:
- Lead strategic advisory and transformation projects for defense organisations, public institutions and industry clients.
- Strategic analyses, capability evaluations and operational reviews, conduct market assessments.
- Advise clients on defense policy, procurement, innovation and capability development, organizational transformation.
- Translate complex challenges into actionable recommendations and strategic roadmaps.
- Manage consulting projects from scoping to delivery, ensuring quality, timelines, budgets and client satisfaction.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders and key client contacts.
- Lead multidisciplinary project teams and coordinate internal and external resources.
- Deliver high-quality reports, strategic recommendations and executive presentations.
- Ensure effective project governance, resource planning and financial performance.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within the German defense market.
- Build and maintain relationships with defense organizations, government institutions and industry stakeholders.
- Lead or contribute to commercial proposals, tenders and competitive bids.
- Develop new consulting offerings aligned with market needs and Novaspace's capabilities.
- Support account development, client engagement and the expansion of existing partnerships.
- Represent Novaspace at industry events, conferences and client meetings.
- Lead, coach and support consultants throughout project delivery.
- Contribute to the development of the Defense practice, methodologies and knowledge base.
- Foster collaboration with international teams and subject-matter experts.
- Support the identification and development of talent within the consulting team.
Your background:
- Master's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, International Relations, Political Science, Security Studies or a related field.
- Typically 5–8+ years of relevant professional experience in management consulting, defense organizations, public institutions or the defense industry.
- Proven experience managing complex consulting or strategic advisory projects.
- Demonstrated ability to develop client relationships and contribute to business development activities.
- Strong understanding of the German defense ecosystem, its institutional stakeholders and industry dynamics.
- Knowledge of defense policy and doctrine, market dynamics, procurement, capability development or organizational transformation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and project management skills.
- Experience developing strategic recommendations and presenting to senior stakeholders.
- Understanding of German and European defense institutions and procurement environments.
- Familiarity with NATO, EU defense initiatives and international defense cooperation is an advantage.
- Experience with defense-related technology, digital transformation or innovation programmes is an asset.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and strong commercial awareness.
- Ability to balance business development priorities with consulting delivery.
- Strong leadership and team coordination skills.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to operate independently in a dynamic, international consulting environment.
- Excellent written and spoken German and English.
- Willingness to travel as required.
- Established network within the German defense industry or public defense institutions.
- Experience working with German and international arm forces and Defense organizations.
- Track record of winning consulting projects or contributing to successful bids.
- Experience in defense procurement, industrial strategy or major transformation programmes.
- Eligibility for security clearance
