Join AECOM in supporting the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games Infrastructure Program, a landmark $7.1 billion program being delivered by GIICA, with AECOM as a Delivery Partner. The program will deliver 17 new and upgraded venues, creating a lasting legacy for Queensland.

We’re seeking an experienced Project Risk Manager to support effective risk management across this complex infrastructure portfolio and help ensure risks are proactively identified, managed and integrated into project planning and delivery.

Key responsibilities:

- Work with project teams to identify, assess, manage, monitor and report project risks throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring risk management is embedded within project planning and delivery.

- Support the establishment and ongoing maintenance of project risk registers, including the appropriate articulation of risks, causes and consequences, risk ratings, controls, treatments, owners and target dates.

- Plan and facilitate project risk workshops, regular risk reviews and deep dives with project teams and relevant subject matter experts.

- Work closely with project managers and project controls functions to integrate risk management with project scope, schedule, cost, procurement, commercial and delivery activities.

- Support project teams to develop practical and measurable risk treatments, monitor their implementation and effectiveness, and identify risks requiring further intervention or escalation.

- Identify material and emerging project risks requiring escalation and support the flow of risk information from project level into program, portfolio and enterprise risk processes.

- Prepare clear, accurate and timely project risk reporting and provide analysis of key exposures, trends, movements and emerging issues for project and program stakeholders.

- Support project teams to consistently apply GIICA’s Risk Management Framework, risk appetite and associated methodologies, processes and systems. This supports the broader framework oversight responsibilities assigned to the Program Risk and Analytics Lead.

- Build effective relationships with project directors, project managers, delivery teams, government stakeholders, delivery partners, advisers and other stakeholders to promote active and effective management of risk.

- Provide practical guidance and support to project teams to strengthen risk management capability and promote consistent risk management practices across GIICA.

What you’ll bring:

- Tertiary qualifications in risk management, project management, engineering, construction, business or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.

- Demonstrated experience in project risk management across major infrastructure, capital works or complex project delivery environments.

- Experience working within government, statutory authorities or other highly regulated environments.

- Proven capability in risk registers, risk assessments, treatment planning and facilitating risk workshops.

- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify emerging risks, trends and changes in project exposure.

- Sound understanding of project controls and the relationship between risk, cost, schedule, scope and commercial delivery.

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence, constructively challenge and translate complex risks into practical advice.

Be part of a once-in-a-generation infrastructure program and help deliver the venues and legacy that will shape Queensland for 2032 and beyond.
