The Senior Data Solutions Engineer I is responsible for for the design, development, implementation, and optimization of enterprise data solutions that support business operations, analytics, regulatory reporting, and strategic decision-making. Serves as a senior technical resource for data architecture, integration, data quality, and platform modernization initiatives. Provides technical leadership across projects, mentors junior team members, and collaborates with business and technology stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable data solutions that align with organizational goals.

As a Senior Data Solutions Engineer I, you will:

- Partner with Data Engineering leadership to design and implement enterprise data architecture, integration patterns, and data platform standards.

- Design and implement scalable ETL/ELT processes that support operational, analytical, and regulatory data requirements.

- Partner with business leaders, analysts, architects, and technology teams to translate strategic business objectives into technical data solutions.

- Assist in the evaluation, selection, and implementation of new data technologies, tools, and best practices.

- Maintain enterprise data models, data warehouses, data lakes, and cloud-based data platforms.

- Establish and enforce standards for data integration, data quality, documentation, governance, and security.

- Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers and project teams, including code reviews, design reviews, and mentoring.

- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on automation, scalability, reliability, and cost optimization.

- Troubleshoot and resolve complex data integration, performance, and infrastructure issues.

- Lead data migration and modernization initiatives involving cloud platforms, legacy systems, and enterprise applications.

- Collaborate with information security, compliance, and governance teams to ensure adherence to organizational policies and regulatory requirements.

- Develop and maintain technical documentation, architectural diagrams, and operational procedures.

- Monitor and optimize system performance, database performance, and data pipeline efficiency.

- Serve as a subject matter expert for data integration, pipeline design, data modeling, and data platform best practices.

- Participate in project planning, effort estimation, and prioritization of data-related initiatives.

- Communicate technical concepts and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.

- Support disaster recovery, business continuity, and production support efforts as required.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field required.

- 5-8+ years of experience designing, developing, and supporting enterprise data solutions.

- Advanced experience with SQL, data integration platforms, data warehousing, and cloud technologies.

- Experience leading large-scale data projects and cross-functional initiatives.

- Experience within banking, financial services, or other highly regulated industries preferred.

- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

- Advanced knowledge of data engineering, systems integration, and enterprise data architecture.

- Strong expertise in SQL, dbt, database administration concepts, performance tuning, and query optimization.

- Advanced experience designing and developing ETL/ELT frameworks and automated data pipelines.

- Experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Azure, Fabric, or Databricks.

- Strong understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and data lake architecture.

- Experience with orchestration, automation, and workflow management tools.

- Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, master data management, and data quality frameworks.

- Strong programming and scripting skills using Python, SQL, or related technologies.

- Ability to lead technical discussions, influence architectural decisions, and provide strategic recommendations.

- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities with a focus on root cause analysis.

- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.

- Ability to mentor, coach, and develop junior technical team members.

- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues independently and escalate when appropriate.

- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
