Key Responsibilities
- Leverages enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity across complex deliverables (e.g., code generation/refactoring, unit test creation, documentation), while validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards; contributes learnings and reusable patterns to improve broader team effectiveness.
- Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation
- Own design and delivery for full-stack features (Java/Spring Boot + React/Angular).
- Build resilient services and integrations (Kafka/eventing, downstream dependencies).
- Drive engineering quality through reviews, automation, test strategy, and CI/CD improvements.
- Improve production readiness (monitoring, alerting, dashboards, runbooks) and reduce recurring incidents.
- Mentor engineers and help standardize best practices across the squad.
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools within the work environment (e.g., for coding, test creation, troubleshooting, or documentation) with demonstrated ability to critically evaluate, validate, and refine AI-generated outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; ability to guide peers on safe and effective usage within team practices.
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience.
- Strong Java and Spring Boot and React/Angular full-stack delivery.
- Experience developing Kafka producers/consumers in Java
- Experience with SQL databases such as Aurora – Postgres or equivalent with data modelling, query optimization and performance tuning.
- NoSQL experience: Cassandra / DynamoDB / Elastic Search (modeling + performance).
- Hands-on Cloud Foundry/AWS and building/maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong quality mindset, including TDD, automation, design and code reviews, and engineering mentorship.
- Ability to work with tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk, Grafana for observability and monitoring
- Experience building applications with resilient, highly available architectures, including consideration for failure modes, recovery, and operational readiness.
- Working knowledge of secure engineering practices and designing to meet Cyber Security and Technology Control requirements (e.g., authentication/authorization, secure APIs, data protection, dependency hygiene).
Nice to have:
- Experience with advanced AI/LLM capabilities, including LLM integrations, agentic workflows, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and tool calling, is a plus.
- Cross-team delivery leadership, PCI exposure, AWS certifications
