As a Service Technician, you’ll work directly with homeowners to complete warranty repairs, correct installation issues, perform quality checks, and resolve customer concerns. You’ll have the independence to troubleshoot problems in the field while being supported by a team that helps coordinate scheduling, materials, and customer needs.

This is a great opportunity for someone with hands on construction or home improvement experience who enjoys solving problems, working independently, and delivering quality workmanship.

What You’ll Do

• Travel to customers’ homes to complete scheduled warranty and service appointments.

• Diagnose and repair issues involving windows, doors, and other exterior home improvement products.

• Complete punch list corrections and post installation service work with a focus on getting the job done correctly the first time.

• Conduct quality assurance visits to evaluate installation quality, product condition, and customer satisfaction.

• Troubleshoot concerns in the field and determine the best solution using your technical knowledge and judgment.

• Review work orders and job information before beginning service to make sure materials and project details are accurate.

• Document each service visit using a company provided tablet, including detailed notes, photos, materials used, and labor time.

• Communicate with internal teams when additional materials, return visits, scheduling adjustments, or escalations are needed.

• Keep your assigned tools, company vehicle, and equipment clean, organized, and ready for the next job.

• Build trust with homeowners by clearly explaining repairs, next steps, and solutions.

• Recognize additional home improvement needs while in the home and professionally introduce relevant Thompson Creek products and solutions when appropriate.

What You Bring

• At least 1 year of experience in home improvement, construction, installation, repair, maintenance, or a related skilled trade.

• High school diploma or GED.

• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company driving requirements.

• Hands on mechanical and technical ability with the skills to diagnose problems and complete repairs.

• Strong problem solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions while working independently in the field.

• A customer focused approach, especially when working with homeowners who may be experiencing a service concern.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain issues and solutions clearly and professionally.

• Good organization and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple service appointments throughout the day.

• Attention to detail and pride in completing accurate, quality work.

• Comfort using an iPad or similar tablet, Microsoft Office, and company provided applications to document service visits.

• Ability to obtain required LSWP and MHIC certifications.

• A professional appearance and approach when representing Thompson Creek in customers’ homes.
