About the role
The ICT Support Coordinator provides operational leadership to the ICT Support team, coordinating daily activities, prioritising support requests, mentoring team members, and delivering high-quality technical support to staff and students.
The successful applicant would be a suitably qualified, positive and highly motivated, proactive team player with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and high-level computer skills. •
In particular, the ICT Support Coordinator is customer focused, approachable and patient, capable of explaining technical concepts to non-technical users with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and privacy.
Current experience in a school setting would be highly regarded.
Mandatory requirement
This position requires you to hold a Paid Working with Children Check (Blue Card), in accordance with QLD legislative requirements.
Selection Criteria

SC1 Demonstrated technical knowledge and experience in supporting Microsoft 365, Windows operating systems, endpoint devices, networking, and common business applications within a contemporary IT environment.
SC2 Proven ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve a broad range of hardware, software, network, and user-support issues while maintaining accurate documentation and adhering to IT security best practices.
SC3 Demonstrated experience coordinating or managing an ICT helpdesk or service desk function, including prioritising workloads, monitoring ticket queues, allocating tasks, and ensuring timely resolution of support requests in accordance with service standards.
SC4 Highly developed communication and customer service skills, with the ability to build positive relationships, explain technical concepts to non-technical users, and deliver responsive, professional support to staff, students, and stakeholders.
SC5 A commitment to the aims, objectives and ethos of Ormiston College.
Responsibilities of the role
As the ICT Support Coordinator, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth delivery of ICT services across the College, providing hands-on technical support while coordinating and supporting the ICT Support team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinate daily ICT support operations, prioritise service requests and ensure timely resolution of technical issues.
- Provide guidance, mentoring and day-to-day leadership to ICT Support Technicians.
- Deliver professional, customer-focused technical support to staff and students, ensuring a positive user experience.
- Support Microsoft 365, user accounts, digital learning platforms and classroom technologies.
- Oversee the setup, maintenance and lifecycle management of College devices, equipment and ICT assets.
- Promote cyber security awareness, assist with risk management and support safe technology practices.
- Contribute to ICT projects, process improvements and initiatives that enhance service delivery across the College.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys solving problems, supporting people and contributing to a collaborative and proactive ICT team.
