We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to join a high-performing technology team responsible for the design, implementation, support and optimisation of complex enterprise network environments.
This role will suit a hands-on engineer with deep expertise across enterprise networking, network security and hybrid cloud connectivity who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and working within large-scale, mission-critical environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement and maintain enterprise network infrastructure.
- Provide technical leadership for complex network projects and operational initiatives.
- Support and optimise LAN, WAN, wireless and remote access solutions.
- Configure and manage routing, switching and network security technologies.
- Deliver hybrid cloud networking solutions including connectivity between on-premises and cloud environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve critical network incidents and performance issues.
- Implement network segmentation, security controls and Zero Trust principles.
- Produce high-quality technical documentation, design artefacts and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, cyber security and application teams to deliver integrated solutions.
- Participate in technical assurance, service improvement and continuous optimisation activities.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Enterprise Networking
- Extensive experience supporting large-scale enterprise networks.
Strong knowledge of:
- BGP
- OSPF
- EIGRP
- VLANs
- VXLAN
- MPLS
- VPN technologies
- Network redundancy and high availability
Cisco Technologies
Demonstrated experience with:
- Cisco Routing and Switching
- Cisco ACI
- Cisco ISE
- Cisco SD-Access
- Cisco Firepower
Cloud Networking
Strong experience designing and supporting Azure networking solutions, including:
- Virtual Networks (VNets)
- ExpressRoute
- Azure Firewall
- Application Gateway
- Network Security Groups
- Hybrid Cloud Connectivity
Network Security
- Firewall management and security policy implementation.
- Network segmentation and micro-segmentation.
- DDoS protection and mitigation.
- Web Application Firewall (WAF) technologies.
- Zero Trust architecture principles.
Desirable Experience
- Australian Government or highly regulated enterprise environments.
- Infrastructure automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Identity and access integrations with enterprise cloud services.
- Experience working within ITIL-based operational environments.
Relevant certifications such as:
- CCNP Enterprise
- CCIE
- Azure Network Engineer Associate
- Azure Solutions Architect
- CISSP or equivalent
