Manufacturing Systems Analyst
Renishaw · Miskin, United Kingdom · hybrid
Job Description
Location Miskin south Wales
Salary up to £35,000 depending on experience
Manufacturing Systems is a growing area within Renishaw, supporting established reporting, applications and digital solutions across our manufacturing operations in the UK.
This is an opportunity to join the team at an exciting stage of its growth. Working alongside a Senior Manufacturing Systems Analyst, you will build on your existing analytical or technical foundations while developing practical skills across SQL, Power BI, SQL Server Reporting Services, Power Platform and manufacturing systems.
You will work on real operational challenges from the outset, helping teams make better use of data, improve reporting and replace inefficient processes with practical digital solutions. As your skills and business knowledge develop, you will have the opportunity to take ownership of defined projects.
We are not looking for experience across every technology we use. More important is a strong foundation in data, programming, engineering or digital technology, together with curiosity, structured problem-solving and a genuine desire to learn.
Responsibilities
- Work with stakeholders to understand operational challenges and translate them into practical technical solutions.
- Develop reports, dashboards and data solutions using Power BI and SQL Server Reporting Services.
- Use SQL to extract, combine and prepare data from manufacturing and business systems.
- Create and support Power Apps, Power Automate workflows and SharePoint solutions.
- Investigate differences between systems and ensure reporting is accurate and reliable.
- Improve manual processes through data, reporting, applications and automation.
- Support and improve existing reports, applications and manufacturing-system solutions.
- Develop an understanding of Renishaw’s manufacturing processes, systems and data.
Key requirements
- Strong analytical, technical or programming foundations.
- Experience using data or technology to solve a problem, gained through employment, study, placements, apprenticeships or personal projects.
- Logical and structured problem-solving skills.
- A methodical approach to testing and validating your work.
- The ability to explain technical information clearly.
- Evidence of learning and applying new technical skills.
- An interest in manufacturing, data and digital technology.
- A genuine willingness to learn and develop.
Relevant experience could include SQL, Power BI, Excel, MATLAB, Python, another programming language, data visualisation, statistical analysis or engineering software. You do not need experience with every tool listed.
Desirable requirements
- A degree, apprenticeship or equivalent experience in engineering, computer science, data, mathematics or a related technical discipline.
- Knowledge of SQL, relational databases or business-intelligence tools.
- Experience in manufacturing, engineering or another operational environment.
- Exposure to Power BI, Power Platform, SharePoint or SQL Server Reporting Services.
- Experience of process improvement or developing a technical solution.
Please consider applying even if you do not meet every desirable requirement. We are interested in the skills you already possess, how you have applied them and your potential to develop further.
