Senior Manager, Analytics
Arena Club · Los Angeles, CA
About Arena Club
Arena Club is building the number one digital marketplace for collectibles. We started by reinventing the hobby with the first-ever digital card show, and we are expanding into new categories so collectors can buy, sell, grade, and showcase everything they care about in one place. Our 'Slab Pack' product brought the mystery and chase of opening physical packs of cards to a digital format, and has led to Arena Club being one of the fastest-growing (and highly profitable) companies in Los Angeles. Our business was founded by 5x World Series Champion Derek Jeter and serial entrepreneur Brian Lee, who previously founded LegalZoom and The Honest Company.
About the Role
We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Senior Manager to anchor, scale, and lead our data analytics function. As our first dedicated analytics leader, you will serve as the principal data partner to Marketing, Finance, Product, and Operations. You will also balance strategic leadership (defining core KPIs, managing stakeholder intake, and mentoring a growing team) with high-impact execution, presenting insights directly to executive leadership. This role is ideal for a builder who thrives in high-growth environments and wants to shape the data culture of a scaling marketplace.
What You Will Do
- Team Leadership & Scaling: Manage and mentor our founding analyst and senior analytics engineer, establishing best practices for code review, documentation, and career growth
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Act as the primary analytics partner for Product, Marketing, Finance, and Operations, translating complex business problems into structured data initiatives
- Data Strategy & Governance: Establish a centralized intake and prioritization framework to align analytics resources with high-impact business goals; define and own core company KPIs to ensure a single source of truth
- Advanced Analytics & Modeling: Remain hands-on in the data; design and deploy predictive models (e.g., LTV, churn, propensity, and demand forecasting) to optimize marketplace mechanics
- Experimentation & Attribution: Design, execute, and analyze A/B tests and incrementality frameworks, including holdout designs for marketing promotions and customer loyalty initiatives
- Insights & Executive Communication: Proactively surface growth opportunities and deliver narrative-driven, actionable recommendations to leadership to guide strategic decision-making
- Data Architecture Collaboration: Partner closely with Data Engineering to define requirements for core data models, ensuring downstream data structures support robust business analysis
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field)
- 6+ years of progressive experience in product, business, or marketplace analytics; 2+ years of experience managing, mentoring, or leading technical reports
- Proficiency in SQL (advanced CTEs, window functions, query optimization) and hands-on experience building predictive models using Python or R
- Strong command of analytics frameworks such as cohort retention, multi-touch attribution, funnel analysis, and user-journey mapping
- Comfortable operating within a modern data ecosystem (e.g., Snowflake, dbt, BI tools like Omni/Looker/Tableau)
- Hands-on experience leveraging AI tools (e.g., Claude, LLMs, AI coding assistants) to accelerate analytics workflows and code production
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to distill complex quantitative findings into clear business strategies for executive and non-technical audiences
